We always have a cooler/fridge in our room since we stay for 10+ days. Our plan is to go to WalMart as soon as we arrive in town. I was wondering what type of food do you store in your room?

We usually have popcorn, stuff for sandwiches, chips, chex mix and other snacks, but I was thinking about microwaveable mac n' cheese singles, etc. Any ideas?

We are down to 29 days and I have nothing left to plan or pay for. Going a little bonkers. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you have enough time to spend in your room, at first I thought, how much can you eat and then I saw that you will be there for 10 days. I would take cheese sticks, pepperoni, English muffins and sause to make little pizzas:)

We get fruit cups, yogurt, cereal, granola bars trail mix, snacks that we can bring to the park since we have a 2 year old we packs alot of grapes strawberries etc... Now are you doing the dining plan? We figured out we would save money that way. :confused3

We thought about doing the Disney Dining Plan but nixed it in the end. We never spend a lot of time in the room except to sleep and shower, but having things to munch on throughout the day when/if we take breaks as well as for breakfast is nice. We found that while we aren't starving ourselves, it's so hot that we don't eat as much on vacation as we normally do.

Just trying to round up some different ideas. I never thought about the fruit cups. What's nice about those is you don't have to refrigerate them, either.

We don't have a microwave in our room, but I called the hotel and we can use the one in the food court at our hotel. So if we want to snack on some microwave popcorn or have instant soup like cup of noodles, that is an option.

Well, we are not big breakfast eaters, there is 2 adults and 3 kids in my family..for breakfast we bring granola bars, cereal, fruit snacks, oatmeal, fruit roll ups...snack wise we bring a cooler, and get ice at the ice machine, its cheaper and easier than walking to the food place at the hotel..we bring cup o noodles..candy bars...chips ,pretzels..single mac and cheese, plus we pack bowls, and spoons.
We hardly ever spend that much time in our room, plus we bring the snacks to the parks with us, but its nice by the time we get back from the parks the place in the hotel lobby is usually closed, so its nice to have a cold drink, and bedtime snack when we get back!
We also buy a small thing of milk and put it in the ice container, and just refill the ice..plus we bring oj for the mornings...we have so much food in our room, we could live in there, and never have to leave..eccept for ice!!LOL!
Oh yea, also bananas,fruit..cookies...all the above..lol!!
Last time we brought a mini coffee pot and used the water from that for the cup of noodles, and oatmeal!!
Its one less thing ya gotta worry about!

ilovemyjj,

Generally we have a lot of stuff in our rooms to snack on, too, I was just curious as to other things people might bring to snack on. After a nice afternoon swim, we like to go back to the room to snack and relax before heading back to a park. We usually buy one bag of ice and use the ice machine for "refills."

Thanks!

my mom usually brings the one serving chips bags. and last time we brought gronala bars for breakfast since im not a breakfast eater.

individual servings of peanut butter...bring crackers...bread...apples, bananas...Peanut butter is filling and not as "junky" as a candy bar...though I do love a good candy bar...YUM!!

We try to get things that travel well and bring them with us. Our local dollar store sells pringles - they travel really well (minimal crushing in the luggage) and pack small.

We also watch for sales at home on the travel cup packages of mini cookies (like nutter butters and oreos). I try to avoid anything with chocolate or chocolate chips in it because of melting.

Individual packets of gummy fruit snacks come with us into the parks - my DDs are hungry all the time - even the heat doesn't slow them down.

Enjoy your trip!

I never even thought about peanut butter (which is strange considering i am ADDICTED to it ) and bananas and apples. It is so healthy and gives you that kick of protein to keep you going (or GET you going for those morning EMH's!!). I was also thinking about bringing the individual V8VFusion juice bottles and packing them in ice in the room. They each have over one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetables so if you are not a breakfast person they will certainly give you some vitamins, some slow carbs, and not be terribly filling or heavy in the morning.

We are on the dining plan and we never seem to eat any snacks because we are always too full from the meals. We do breakfast in our room though and mostly we stop for water, apple juice, kool aid juice boxes and soft drinks.

I like to bring down trail mix - it has a little bit of everything, nuts, dried fruit and chocolate, but just make sure you get the kind with the m&m's b/c choc chips will melt.

We have never done the dining plan because we stay at SoG
We bring the following:

small bags of chips
small bags of cookies
granola bars
cereal and milk and poptarts for Breakfast in the room
peanut butter crackers
fruit snacks
banana, apples
capri sun or sunny D in small bottles
soda
bottled water, (we hate the Orlando water taste and smell)
Triscuits and cheese

Nix the microwave Kraft Mac n Cheese. It is just nasty. But peanut butter crackers sound just right as well as the fixins for english muffin pizzas.

When we aren't on the DDP:

Breakfast foods:
Mw breakfast sand's (like Egg McMuffin type)
Big Texas Cinnamon Rolls (Sams Club - if you have a membership)
Prepackaged muffins/pastries
Pop Tarts (also good for park snacking)

Lunch foods:
Sand meats and bread (Ket Must mayo available @ Food Courts)
Lettuce, tom, pickles for sand's
Spaghettios/ravioli's, etc (Mw @ food court)
Salad fixin's
Dry soups
PBJ

Supper foods:
Usually we eat in the parks
If we drive, I make and freeze a couple of casserole dishes to pack in the cooler, and we eat these the first couple of days. (Mw in the food court) Plus, leftovers serve as lunches.

Snacks: (I try to make sure most will travel well in the parks too)
Trail mix
Fruit snacks
Canisters of chips so they don't get squished!
Snack packs of cookies and crackers. (everyone picks one pack to carry w/ them each day in the park for munchies)
Pudding/jello packs (love to munch these in the room!)
Pretzels/Dip
Little candy bars for occasional sweets
Mw popcorn
Little Debbies
Fruit (usually Apples since they don't rot while we're there!)
Baby carrots (dip in the PB!!)
Granola bars/breakfast bars

Bottled water
2 lts of pop
juice boxes or squeezie bottles

Breakfast bars
Cereal
Milk
Bottled Water
Cheez-its and chips
Cookies
Extra coffee and creamer and Sweet-n-low (Impossible to find at WDW restaurants!)
I also get a bunch of bananas and some apples
Peanut butter crackers
String cheese
Wheat thins
Small bottles of OJ
Cup of Noodles (Heat water in the coffee pot)
Oh, and my obsession Kettle chips in Sea salt/ Cracked Pepper!

We bring the Healthy Choice meals that do not have to be refrigerated since my son usually falls asleep when it's dinner time and wants to eat later. He also likes spaghetti o's on the rare ocasion that I let him have it.
