
I"m with you. I don't buy organic either. I am perfectly fine with the safety of our food and I'm not going to argue with anyone else about it. I very seldom cook with canned or processed foods, almost all fresh. And in the summer almost everything comes out of my garden (which IS pesticide-free.)
We garden because it's so much cheaper than buying fresh. Plus I can up what we don't eat so we can eat it in the winter.
We also offer our DD16 occasional wine with dinner( I think we started this when she was about 14) . Wine, especially red wine, has a lot of antioxidents in it and is very good for your health in small quantities. It also does not promote weight gain, unlike juice which can really raise blood sugar. No reason to drink your calories. DD has a BMI of about 17, so she must be doing something right.
