Food!

My favs...

Pomme Frittes from Cafe Orleans
ANYTHING from Ralph Brennan's (Gumbo is a super fav though)
Tigger Tails from the bakeries
Fried Green Tomato Sandwich from Hungry Bear

Did they change their rules recently and allow you to eat inside the Tiki Room?? Last time I was there and bought a Dole Whip, I was forced to shovel it & then toss the rest because it's not allowed inside. Now I just get one on my way out;)

Yep I was in the Tiki Room last week finishing up a Dole Whip in between choruses of Lets All Sing Like the Birdies Sing. So no problem these days eating inside.

Thank you. So what time should we plan dinner over there to make sure we plan for the early Fantasmic show? Any other places we should consider in that area? Maybe just skip Cafe Orleans? I will think about it for a snack or dessert place, but usually I don't think of a "sit down wait staff" place for like that.

I've been thinking about doing a late breakfast one day at the Carnation Cafe since it sounds like it's really good. But I'm on the fence because that can sometimes be the best times in the parks for rides and lines. With only 3 days and shorter hours for the off season, I'm unsure of my restaurant planning. I know we need breaks and food so hopefully I have enough information going in we can make a plan and then change on the fly if we need to.

Well what time is the show? I would say you want to line up at least 1 hour prior if you're doing the early show. Then just plan on an hour to eat. You might also think about getting one of the soup bread bowls from Royal St Veranda & having a picnic dinner while you wait for F! I have done that SO many times & it really helps pass the time. French Market or Rancho del Zocalo are good options for nearby F! Dining. ;)

As far as Carnation Cafe goes- we did that once for breakfast & we will never do that again. Breakfast wasn't THAT good & it was a big time sucker! My family was not happy! They would much rather be on the rides so we just pack in fruit & muffins for later.

You might try Carnation for lunch or dinner instead. The baked potato soup is THE best!

I would suggest finding one or 2 restaurants that you know for sure you want to eat at in each land. That way if one is super crowded or the family doesn't feel like another cheeseburger- you've got options. Plus if you find yourself in Tomorrowland for lunch when you thought you'd be in Adventureland, you'll already have food choices. :-)

Nice!

And no I'm not thinking of the WDW one. I remember very clearly on DS 1st trip, we bought a dole whip (his very 1st one) & we were sitting in the benches waiting for the doors to open & a CM told us we would need to finish that before we went in to see the show. And we were not the only ones...clearly I was NOT pleased. Why sell them here if you're not allowed to eat them??

Anyways, I'm so excited that we can- perhaps I just got a CM in training?? ;)
