The wife and I are going to the Food & Wine festival this year for the first time. Does anyone have any tips?

Would meet for a pint with any DISBoard members

Thanks guys, going Sept. 2 - 16. Can't wait to stuff my face and silently judge the Scotland stand

The Scotland kiosk had a wonderful potato pancake with smoked salmon last year plus Innis & Gunn stout. I enjoyed the salmon very much and had 3, maybe 4, samples of the stout--in the name of research, of course. ;)

Haha! Yeah Innis & Gunn are a local brewery here. They make some pretty tasty beers!

Go during the week not on the weekends. Get to World Showcase as soon as the kiosks open. Definitely get a grand marnier or lemonade slush in France! Enjoy! We absolutely loved it!!!

Look at the menus when they come out and have a plan of attack. I group items into must try, maybe try, and not interested. That way, I'm not getting full off my maybes before I get to my musts. I note them on a little card and order them by a clockwise map of the World Showcase.

Impressive...and smart

Oh the first year I went I didn't even know about F&W, just happened to be there for it. My friend and I started eating our way around the world. Well, we were full way too soon and then seeing things we wanted so bad, but just couldn't do it. Now I prioritize, get the musts first, then anything else that piques my interest or seconds on some things. It takes some work ahead of time, but it's worth it.

Yes, definitely check out the menus before you go and take note of the dishes you are most interested in. I just use a note in my phone and make a list of the must haves, might try if I'm hungry, and hell no. Unfortunately the Scotland booth for the last few years has had vegetarian haggis which is always on my hell no list. There are plenty of different beers to try though including some Florida beers which can be a bit different. Innis and Gunn is a favorite of mine though along with Unibroue which is available in the Canada pavilion.

We were in Scotland just over a month ago and I'm dying to go back! We'll be in DW Sept 2-6 and a lot of that will be in World Showcase so maybe we'll see you around!

Avoid WS on Sat., crazy crowds, sometimes Fri night gets busy but not too much for us, Sundays are OK, weekdays the best. Check out the Eat to the Beat concerts, the first show is the most crowded, the 3rd the least. They have small Disney Gift Cards on a bracelet which you pre-load with $$ either by paying cash or by credit card. Just swipe these at the food kiosk, quick and you're not accumulating a pocket full of change. Also great for budget control. Our fav is the Fisherman's Pie at Ireland.

As others have said, avoid the weekends like the plague. IMHO Scotland had the best food! Beware that you can go through a LOT of money in a hurry.
