What month is better to attend the Food & Wine Festival September or October?

Earlier is always better as the crowds build in general and in people trying to get to the festival. However, there will be much more difference in crowds for F&W if you can go midweek at 11am as opposed to any weekend late afternoon or evening.

We've been October people for the last 4 years and it's a great time to go as long as you avoid Columbus Day, the weekend before CD and the day after. We plan our schedule around not being there until the Wed. or Thurs. after CD at the least. Also, we avoid WS on a Sat. during F&W, Fri. evening crowds may grow as locals get out of work and hit the festival.

I find the first few weeks to be very busy and the last few weeks to be very busy also the weekends are very busy. I would try to go in the middle of the time and not on the weekend

It was great during my trip October 23-27 this year. I never waited more than 5 minutes as I didn't go on Friday or Saturday. September will be far less busy and hotels are cheaper, but it will be hot and the hurricane season is more active.

I went in September of this year and it was extremely hot. And I live in GA, so I'm used to heat and humidity. Also had some very bad thunderstorms. I wont go in September again, I will wait until mid or late October.

I prefer late October due to the heat/humidity in September. World showcase - at least the part where the kiosks are located - is very short on shade. However, in theory, if you avoid opening weekend of the festival, September could be less crowded & WDW resort rates are definitely lower in Sept.

September is too hot and humid, in my opinion.
We like the 3rd week of October, mid week
