I am treating 6 of my girlfriends for 3 nights at my DVC. :cool1: Just the girls - no kids - no husbands. This is our first time to the festival (and my first time using my points) and I want to do it right. Any suggestions on which location to stay at? Any tips re: fesitval?
Thanks.

Everything I've read on the wine fest is to stay at the BCV or BWV. Location is excellent for Epcot.

Enjoy your girls only trip.

Most definitely BCV or BWV. Get your ressies asap. Make sure to go to the Taste for the Senses, pricey, but fun. Ticket go on sale end of July-some of the events sell out in a day. Lots of fun, we're going again this year.

I also agree with staying at BCV or BWV.

What type of accomodations are you looking for? It's a bit late to start looking for this year. I'm guessing you'll be at SSR or OKW and do a waitlist.

rwc

make sure you are there for a saturday night for the eat to the beat diner its about 95 dollars a person for all you can eat and drink..lots of wineries matched up with chefs from all over the world and beer too

I did the F/W Festival with three girlfriends last year. We shared a lot of the foods from the booths, and the one thing we said we'd do next time is instead of going around just one day, we'd take two days to do it -- and do the odd numbered booths one day and the even #ed booths the next day -- only Canada both days as I love that maple walnut fudge they have....mmmmm.

Definitely plan to eat your way around the world! We found it easier to have a lot of small bills ($1s and $5s) to use as they all took cash and while most took Resort Keys (some even had items designated as Meal Plan options), we found it was easier to just use cash.

I agree about staying at one of the DVC locations that is walkable for Epcot if you can get it. If not, then you might want to consider Saratoga Springs as it is convenient to Downtown Disney for shopping, etc. - which seems to be something we always end up doing on our g'friend trips (we've done six so far).

Have a great time!

I got lucky and got into a 3 bedroom BWV for Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday. Thanks for the advice. The reservationist said that would be her choice too - buses could be crowded and at least you could crawl home. :rotfl2: Is food for the senses only on Saturday? Someone mentioned making reservations early. Reservations for what? Again, this is our first time doing the festival so I'm not sure what to expect.
The six of us are excited already :dance3: :dance3: It's going to be a long summer in anticipation for these three days! party:

party for the senses is sat only the past three years..there have been no announcements yet for this year/ they have celebrity chefs special lunches and dinners for various prices..they sell out quick..this will be our 8th year in a row. it gets bigger every year

BWV would be your best bet since previous posts have been negative about BCV. Truth is though I doubt you will have much joice at this point. SSR is nice and you guys can walk to pleasure Island after your day at Epcot.. :cool1:

We have gone every year since 98. WE try to hit something new every year. I bring a new bottle of wine or two home with me to keep me going untill I go home the next year.

I hope to do the beer tasteing class this year. :woohoo:

A lesson learned for us last year at our 1st Taste for the Senses....bring a small piece of paper and pencil or pen. We'd taste some great wine and when time to purchase, completely forgot the name......mmmmm was it all the wine we had or all the wine we saw?????
