Hi everyone. I am staying at SSR from Oct. 8th - 18th. I booked 2 studios, one for me, DH, DD 12 and DS 9. The other one is for my parents. We a looking forward to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. We have never attended before. Us adults are looking forward to sampling all the food and Wine:drinking: :drinking1 but I'm wondering if the kids will have a good time or not. Do they have any special activities for kids? I'm not so concerned about my 12 yr old DD but mostly my 9 year old DS. I don't want him to be bored. Any suggestions?

I suspect this might get moved to the Parks board - but here goes------

My experience with kids and the F&W festival is that they don't notice much about the festival itself - unless they are really into international foods.

But all of the WS is still there for them - with the KidCot stations and the entertainment. My DD was skeptical that the kids would enjoy that "adult park" when we planned the trip last Oct - and ended up telling me that they enjoyed it much more than she thought they would.

Same reaction from someone at work. She said "I don't need to know about Epcot - that's not a kid's park" I told her to go anyway and she came back saying her 7 yo loved WS the best of anywhere he had been. Because he was so into all the countries and their architecture!

Go figure! So you know your kids - look for stuff they enjoy and you can't go wrong.

don't worry about the kids! as i recall, our 3 kids were just a bit younger than your two. they were characters walking and meeting people, craft areas and entertainment. and, the tents are usually right in fron (or nearby) the country itself, so they can explore (as long as they stick together!). really, they'll like the food sampling, too. i remember sitting at a short wine tasting with my husband (out in the open, but with a canopy covering), and watching my kids, some 30 feet away, getting a bunch of autographs. also, check out the art work ("to wear and hang") for the festival- they always do a great job!

have fun!
