Food & Wine Booth Menus Up!!

I went today (9/28) and here's what I had (lunch and dinner)

I'm a vegetarian as well

Mexico:
Conga Juice- very good, sweet and not acidic

Chile:
Porotos Granados (bean and corn stew)- not very flavorful, strong taste of beans but not bad

China:
Caramel Ginger Ice Cream- large portion, buttery with a hint of ginger, good!

Oktoberfest/Germany:
Vegetable Strudel with Remoulade Sauce- very good, reminded me of a spring roll but with a different flavor

Italy:
Timballo alla Penne e Capri (penne with eggplant and ricotta)-very good, just the right amount of cheese, eggplant cooked well

USA:
Blackberry Cobbler- small size (think Jello shot) but good

India:
Vegetable Curry with Basmati Rice- good, smaller portion (espresso cup)

France:
Creme Brulee au Chocolat- good, light, large portion

Ireland:
Potato Leek Soup- very disappointing! not creamy like past years...clear broth with chunks of potato and leeks, but it was good. Just not what i was expecting and not what I remembered!!

Canada:
Mission Hill Reserve Riesling Icewine- small sample but you always get a small amount of icewine. CM gave me a good pour though!

Greece:
Spanakopita- very good, spinach and cheese and a flaky shell

I was thrilled to read your post PixieDust as I'm a fellow vegetarian and will be there Sunday. Those sound like good choices. Thanks.

Just curious. But what does "icewine" taste like? I have tried many other wines just not this one and it sounds like it would be interesting. thanks

Icewine is incredibly sweet, if you know sugar scales for wine
0 = dry
1 = dry to semi-sweet
2 = sweet

Well icewine sits at about 25 or so on that scale, quite literally when you are tasting wines in the Niagara region (where Icewine originated) you will see most icewines listed in the 20s for sugar.

That being said, some love it, others hate it. The wine itself is made from grapes that are left on the vine until the first frost, then harvested at nice with the grapes semi-frozen, the juice from the grapes becomes very concentrated and almost syrup-like in consistency.

I personally love icewine, but I would warn you to be prepared for what some might feel is overly sweet wine.

This is excellent. I'm leaving for WDW in about 2 and a half weeks and can't wait! This menue has had me salivating.

Lucky you!!! I wish I could be there to taste everything! I love food from all over the world :Pinkbounc
