saw lots of food trays in the halls on the 4 th BWV pref view. We were at the end of a hall so we got to see these trays going out in the morning and sometimes coming back. Some people just don't care where they put their trash as long as it's not in the trash room.

if they order room service - then the server who bring the food - tell them to put the trays out in the hall when they are through -
complaint to food services at BW.

If there is a problem with trays in the hallways the problem is with food services not picking them up in a timely manner, not with the guests who put the trays in the hallway. When you order room service it is common practice to put the trays out in the hallway and it is also the responsibility of food services to make sure they return to pick them up. I agree if there are a lot of trays remaining for lengthy periods, this is something that needs to be addressed with the resort, but don't blame the guests. Even if a guest wanted to take the tray to the trash room where would they put the dishes, glasses, silverware, etc?

Maybe they should put a container in the trash room for the dirty trays and silverware etc.???

There should never be trays in the hallways. However mousekeeping does not pick them up. I think most people think that they do or that they should. when you are finished with your tray you are to put it in the hall next to your door. Then, and this is where most people drop the ball....... You must call room service and ask for the tray to be picked up. All it takes is a call from you and the tray is picked up. Listen closely when they drop off your tray. At the end of the Spiel, They tell you to call when you are done for them to pick up the tray.::yes::

One of those trays might have been ours! After we had breakfast, we called room service and let them know we had a tray that was ready to pick up. When we got back to our room, it was magically gone!!

I never realized that a phone call was necessary. Although we are infrequent users of room service, in the future I will definitely do this. Thanks for the info - just one of those things I (and apparently others) missed.

I just wouldn't disrespect my neighbors by putting used food trays in the halls.

I have had them say to call at the end of their room service spiel and I have also had them say to put the tray in the hall at the end of the spiel, I have also had them say to put the tray outside the door when I call for pick up and I have also had them come to the room to pick up the tray. Like many things Disney, it vaires by which CM you talk to.

I commented on this when we stayed at CR over Labor Day. I do know that room service trays are placed outside the door and if you call they respond fairly quickly.

What we saw were trays from the counter service rest. outside of peoples's doors. It reminded me of walking down an alley instead of a Deluxe Hotel corridor. We did bring food and trays a couple of times from the Sand Bar, but I always used the trash can in the room and Mousekeeping always removed the trays during cleaning.

I really did not understand this practice at all. As there is no roaming patrol that clears food trays from the hall and room service really wouldnt pick these up either.

Room Service doesnt even use the Purple Plastic trays or serve food in paper trays, and that was definitely the majority of what we saw.

Did you forget????
Old Key West doesn't have hallways! :p :p :p :p :p
They don't have room service either but that is really not relevant in this issue. Of course neither is how someone defines respect for their neighbors, but what else is new??

I swear, I must be so under the influence of pixie dust when I am in WDW that I am totally not focused on somethings! Because I stay in WDW deluxe resorts and the DVC resorts that offer room service A LOT and I have never noticed a real problem with room service trays or trash in the hallways. Yes I have seen trays or trash on occasion but it is on a few occasions and it is also always gone fairly quickly.

I guess BWV members are generally more base than other members.

They were the ones that whined so loudly about their 'prefered view" that it cost us all more admistration fees and tissues.

Seems that they are the ones that don't consider leaving boardwalk garbage in the halls for others to clean up being disrespectful to their neighbors.

They just seem to like filthy tenemant living.

No disrespect for neighbors by putting out trays but no problem calling them names. Amazing perspective.

Wow, it looks like somebody is trying to stir something up!!!
Have fun!!!:jester:

Tip of the hat to you Captain

If people really are leaving counter service trays in the hallway that is pretty sad as if there is a cadre of indentured labour to pick up their trash......

We will do our part to keep the door stoops of OKW clean as a whistle
::yes::

thanks
