Hi! Just wondering if it's possible or practical to get food to go at Flame Tree Barbecue? I really fancy the pulled pork sandwich, while the rest of the family will want to go to Restaurantosaurus for burgers and chickens strips. I know they are close distance wise, but can the counter service restaurants provide to go packaging instead of plates? Thanks:)

I would think they might have the plastic dome lids to put on the plate? Like when you get a meal to go at the resort counter services.

If nothing else, they will give you an extra plate to put over the top of the sandwich. That's all you really need.

But word of warning - watch out for other people so they don't walk right into you and the sandwich. And make sure you get all the condiments for your sandwich before you leave the area. Not sure the BBQ sauce will be down at the other place.

Thankyou. I am laughing to myself at the thought of me battling through the August crowds, clutching a pulled pork sandwich:) I will probably sneak the toppings in Restaurantosaurus where my family will be eating. I have never tasted pulled pork!! But I like the look of it! Not sure about the barbecue sauce, is it sickly? I had thought the sandwich would be nice with a little coleslaw. Every time I see a photo of pulled pork I crave it, I hope I'm not disappointed.:)

sickly? nah it's healthy for you.. really hheheheh.

all pulled pork is is a roast that has been shredded to within an inch of its life and smothered in BBq sauce. some places serve it with the coleslaw as part OF the sandwich, others as a side.( I like it both ways)

you cna soo make this at home without any fuss muss and bother.

plop a plain pork roast into the crockpot( or pressure cooker) and cook til done. Low and slow is the way to go here. take 2 large forks( serving forks work best) and just start ripping the meat into stringy bits. you can put a nice rub on the outside for flavor if you want.. a smokey one wprks best. then in a fit of laziness,m dump your favorite bottle of BBq sauce in and mix well. toast a bun, plop on a handful and go to town.
you can serve it anywhere from barely any sauce to dripping off the sides.

Why yes I DO make pulled pork quite often, why do you ask? ;)

The pork sandwich at flame tree is a must do if we are at AK. Yummy!

The sandwich is delicious! It comes with the BBQ sauce on it, so unless you want extra on it, you won't need to stop at the condiment bar. I got it on my last trip and will be sure to get it again this time.

I always add the jar of BBQ sause before I cook...then the taste is cooked in.

I LOVE the pulled pork sandwich at Flame Tree. They have two kinds of BBQ sauce.

Ah - I see where you are from and understand. I don't think you will be disappointed. My husband is a pulled pork fan and gets it a lot and he thinks Flame Tree is a good meal so no worries there. Just like he thinks the fish and chips at the Rose and Crown is better than anything we can get here in the States.

You shouldn't have any problems at all with getting your food through the crowds. Just pay attention and it'll be fine.
