Gazpacho--I should love it, based on the ingredients. But it sort of revolts me.

Asparagus--the vegetable that manages to be bitter, stringy and slimy all at once.

OMG, have you ever tried okra? Now that is revolting!

You must have never tried good asparagus then because good asparagus is none of these things . Dh used to hate asparagus until he tried the good stuff and now loves it--also, don't over cook it.

I find that buying non-locally grown asparagus (the stuff shipped in from Peru or Mexico) that is masquerading as fresh tastes bitter to me. I will only buy asparagus that is grown within a few states of me. Otherwise, it's just bad. Unfortunately, that means I only eat asparagus a few times a year.

Do you have a Schwan's truck in your area (home food delivery)? They have THE BEST frozen veges and their asparagus is out of this world!!

I've seen them before, yeah. I rarely eat frozen veggies those (except for peas). I just don't like them much.

Their frozen veges taste VERY fresh (which is why I love them).

I've had it from locally grown farms, baby asparagus from my CSA and my sister who loves it, grows it. Everyone else raves about how good it is, but it's still repulsive. Bitter, slimy and stringy.
