We had a 5:50 reservation and checked in at 5:30. When checking in the girl said "it may be up to 20 minutes past your reservation time", and I said "it will be or could be" she said "could be". So we walked around the resort (which I loved) (but we are from Minnesota, felt very familiar!) We went back up to the podium at 6:15 to check on our reservation and waited five minutes after that 30 minutes past time!!! (I should say I am a Maitre De at a restaurant, I know how it works, they were overbooked) They then sat us at a table in the very back on the other side of the main dining room at a table that I saw was a "bus" when we arrived. I like our table, it was quiet back there! So in other words their bussers were the ones holding up the reservations. Our server explained what we could order and we quickly ordered chocolate milkshakes and the skillet. We love bbq, infact, this is the other restaurant I had booked twice on our trip, once this day and then the next Friday before
MNSSHP. Chocolate shakes were awesome! We ate the salad and bread while waiting, bread was ok, I liked the salad dressing, DH did not. The skillet came and she asked us if we wanted more bread, shake refill, yes please! The skillet was very hit and miss. When I asked for seconds on the pork and potatoes, she came back with a scoop of potatoes and a little pork, now this was embarrasing, I wasn't going to ask for thirds, but it was the only thing I liked in the skillet. We had picked apart what we liked in the skillet when she came back and asked what we wanted for dessert, ummm more bread and our shake refill please, oops she said and then went and finally got them. She was so poor of a server, I was trying to cut her slack since she had three tables and the were all in the way back, however her other tables were not pleased with her either. They finally went and took ketchup off of another table they had waited to long for her to bring it. We then ordered 2 apple pies to go, which we ate later that night in our room, and they were very good, nice thinly sliced apples in the pie.
Bread: pretty dry Salad w/ apple ving: good
potatoes: good
corn: actually good, it wasn't mushy like most corn on cob
coleslaw: blah beans: these were gross
chicken: good Pulled pork: good, some really big pieces of fat in it though
ribs: First a pre-story, we were waiting for our res. and shopping in the gift shop when the manager there asked us if we were going to WCC, he told us the ribs "were lifechanging they were so good", great we thought, ok, these were so gross we couldn't even eat them, they had to be cut apart, they didn't "fall off the bone" by any means. And the color of the meat was red! Not pink, but red, they looked sick. As we were leaving we asked the guy next to us if he liked his ribs and he said NO!!
2 skillet $48.98, 2 shakes $11.98, 2 apple pie $13.98 tip $15.00(i know she was bad, but again, I work at a restaurant, so I always have to tip good) anyways, the total with tip was $94!!! I cannot imagine paying close to a hundred dollars for a meal like this. It was bad. I then cancelled my second reservation we were 0 for 2, I was starting to think our table service choices were all failures!!! 4/10 rating.
