Thanks!! I just bought a new camera before we left with the advice of the very long thread "what is the best point and shoot" from the DIS boards. Ended up getting the Panasonic Lumic TZ-5, like so many other people. It was great, I never had to change the setting, just left it on auto. Appreciate your compliment.

Ok, Table Service reviews are starting! Like I said in my opening, we had been to Ohana the year before and loved it, I have even been defending it to all the Ohana haters on these boards all year! Infact, we made two dinner reservations a week apart and booked it for our first night in the world. We 7:00 pm reservation 180 days out, but later changed it to 5:00 when I heard they were opening earlier. We checked in at 4:30 and were seated within 5 minutes, the restaurant had opened at 4:30 and was pretty full already. Got our bread, then salad, then broccoli, noodles, wings, and wontons all at the same time. I hadn't even gotten to try all the app's yet when the waiter came over and asked "can I take the salad", I said, no we haven't even eaten it yet! The meats soon followed, it seemed like the meat servers were running through the restaurant trying to empty their skewers, so much so that we had been sitting down for only 20 minutes and had had two rounds of meat and all app's. I looked at my husband and said "I feel like I'm craming all my food down because they want me to, why am I eating so fast! It was unpleasant. Dessert came, wanted seconds but thought, this is the begining of DDP, better save room for the rest of the week. 2 adult meals were $57.49 and left $11 tip.

Here's what we thought about the food:
Welcome bread: awesome! needed butter though, didn't get any
Pork dumplings: kind of gross, smelled like old sausage in them
Broccoli: tasted like it had been in a freezer for a year!!! Discusting
Wings: My husband loves loves chix wings, said he didn't like them at all
Noodles: Were cold when they brought them out, didn't taste like anything, certainly didn't have pineapple or peanuts in them like I had read elsewhere.
Meats: Good, loved the steak and shrimp, loved the peanut sauce. Turkey was ok, pretty dry.
Dessert: A+++ , I love the carmel sauce.

Well, needless to say, we cancelled our reservation for later in the week, and were very disapointed to this day that this restaurant wasn't as wonderful as we remembered. I don't know if we will go back, only if they change some menu items (loved the old potatoes). Entertainment was okay, some skits were cute. Our server was pretty bad also, didn't really care if we wanted one refill on our soda. We were seated and done eating in less than 45 minutes!4/10 rating :(

We had a 5:50 reservation and checked in at 5:30. When checking in the girl said "it may be up to 20 minutes past your reservation time", and I said "it will be or could be" she said "could be". So we walked around the resort (which I loved) (but we are from Minnesota, felt very familiar!) We went back up to the podium at 6:15 to check on our reservation and waited five minutes after that 30 minutes past time!!! (I should say I am a Maitre De at a restaurant, I know how it works, they were overbooked) They then sat us at a table in the very back on the other side of the main dining room at a table that I saw was a "bus" when we arrived. I like our table, it was quiet back there! So in other words their bussers were the ones holding up the reservations. Our server explained what we could order and we quickly ordered chocolate milkshakes and the skillet. We love bbq, infact, this is the other restaurant I had booked twice on our trip, once this day and then the next Friday before MNSSHP. Chocolate shakes were awesome! We ate the salad and bread while waiting, bread was ok, I liked the salad dressing, DH did not. The skillet came and she asked us if we wanted more bread, shake refill, yes please! The skillet was very hit and miss. When I asked for seconds on the pork and potatoes, she came back with a scoop of potatoes and a little pork, now this was embarrasing, I wasn't going to ask for thirds, but it was the only thing I liked in the skillet. We had picked apart what we liked in the skillet when she came back and asked what we wanted for dessert, ummm more bread and our shake refill please, oops she said and then went and finally got them. She was so poor of a server, I was trying to cut her slack since she had three tables and the were all in the way back, however her other tables were not pleased with her either. They finally went and took ketchup off of another table they had waited to long for her to bring it. We then ordered 2 apple pies to go, which we ate later that night in our room, and they were very good, nice thinly sliced apples in the pie.
Bread: pretty dry Salad w/ apple ving: good
potatoes: good
corn: actually good, it wasn't mushy like most corn on cob
coleslaw: blah beans: these were gross
chicken: good Pulled pork: good, some really big pieces of fat in it though
ribs: First a pre-story, we were waiting for our res. and shopping in the gift shop when the manager there asked us if we were going to WCC, he told us the ribs "were lifechanging they were so good", great we thought, ok, these were so gross we couldn't even eat them, they had to be cut apart, they didn't "fall off the bone" by any means. And the color of the meat was red! Not pink, but red, they looked sick. As we were leaving we asked the guy next to us if he liked his ribs and he said NO!!

2 skillet $48.98, 2 shakes $11.98, 2 apple pie $13.98 tip $15.00(i know she was bad, but again, I work at a restaurant, so I always have to tip good) anyways, the total with tip was $94!!! I cannot imagine paying close to a hundred dollars for a meal like this. It was bad. I then cancelled my second reservation we were 0 for 2, I was starting to think our table service choices were all failures!!! 4/10 rating.

Yay! I am buying that camera for our upcoming trip as well and am so happy to see how gorgeous the pictures came out :thumbsup2! What sold me on it was an older model that we have at work which is still a great camera as well, and the fact that you can take HD video with it.

Regarding your reviews, I'm sorry about Ohana's. I guess that place is still hit and miss, but when they get it right it's a wonderful evening. We have been there twice, the first time, amazing, the second, not so much. Also, I have made a mental note about the brownie ice cream sundaes for desert at Pop, thanks!

Love the review and pics! I have to agree with Ohana....although with us it's been hit and miss! Sorry it was a miss for you this trip!

We had a 7:10 reservation and arrived at 6:45 and were seated immediately. We had a nice table for two on the lower level. The bread was ok, great if you like sourdough. I ordered a mango margarita $10.25, margarita's are the only alcholic beverage I really like and this was the best one I had ever had in my life. It was very well blended, no ice chunks, sweet and salty, and not too strong. DH ordered a vodka cranberry $6.50 and said it was very good. Later for dessert we shared a raspberry mojito $7.25 after seeing someone else with it. This was also so good, fresh raspberrys crushed in the drink. It really is worth the price for these premium drinks.

I ordered the filet $39 medium well, and DH the whole lobster $58. DH loves lobster but had never had a whole one before, he loved it. The potatoes were also very good. My filet came out butterflied and very well done. I don't mind well done steak if it is still tender(I only recently started getting it medium well), but this one was very tough and chewy. It is my own fault for not saying anything. However, I fell that if you are going to butterfly a filet, you should let the customer know, I would not have wanted it prepared that way. I work at a very nice steak house and I was told that they would never do that to a filet unless someone asked for it that way. Upon leaving I noticed other peoples filets were butterflied as well. Later in the week when we ate at Le Cellier my medium well steak was perfect, and tender, and in one piece, so I know it can be achieved. Anyways, the potatoes were awesome, really cheesy! We finished with the almond crusted cheesecake $8. It was very good, a little sweet, the almonds seemed to have a sugar coating, but the tart berry sauce cut the sweetness nicely. Overall we had a great meal here, I am glad we tried it, but probably wouldn't use 2 credits on this place again unless I start to like seafood. Our waiter was only ok, quick service, with a bit of a snotty attitude. On a side note the couple next to us ordered an app and their entree's when we sat down and didn't get their entree's until after we were done eating, they were very annoyed. Their server said it was his fault he didn't want to rush their dinner, however they waited a good 30 minutes between app and entree.
$122 of dining credit food
$53 for drinks and tip ($28)
$175 total for dinner for 2 8/10 rating.

After dinner we went outside and had to wait 1 and 1/2 hours for the "special" fireworks that took place on 9/20. The boat dock was already filled with people waiting, we took our drink outside and joined the others who were waiting. I was worried that they wouldn't let us stay out there because we had eaten too early, but there were people out there who weren't customers. We had a perfect view, well worth the wait.

We had an 8:05 reservation, so we got to enter the park early. When we checked in we were about 10 minutes late, and we waited an additional 5 minutes. We ordered juice and the server told us how the characters came around, and not to go get food right away so we could meet Pooh. We had never cared about meeting characters before, but this was fun. We definintly got caught up in the excitement and met every one. We had to wait an additional 10 minutes after we were done with our breakfast to meet Tigger, he got called to the parade right before our table. Our server was very sweet, as she came over and offered to take our picture with every character, this was without us asking her. Character interaction and fun 8/10

Food, this food was gross. How hard is breakfast food?? I like just about any breakfast food, but not his stuff. The breakfast lasagna was pretty gross, mushy and tasted like bananas and blueberrys. We tried to puffed french toast in the kids section, which was very sweet, I put some syrup on it and thought I had made the mistake of putting honey on it! NO, it was just cold and thick syrup. Pastry's were stale, biscuit was dry. We really only each got one plate and food, weren't really hungry after our big Narcoossee's dinner the night before. I wish the food was better, but it just wasn't. breakfast for 2 37.98..$48.05 with tip..!! wow that's too much money for this!!!!2/10 rating for food.

characters were funny, and spent time with us to sign and pose for pix...

We left Crystal Palace (took 1 hour) and got into the parks around 9:30. Toured MK then went back to hotel around 1:00 to swim and nap. We came back to MK and then took the monorail to the GF resort, which took over an hour to get on ASMu bus, to MK, to GF. We had a 6:05 reservation thanks to a DISer, checked in and changed party size from 4 to 2ppl no problem. We did have to wait 15 minutes past our time to be seated. We were seated in a corner away from the activity, which I was thankful for. I wasn't eating here just to meet the characters, but they really added to the appeal. They were funny, interactive, and really spent time talking to all the kids. character interaction and fun 9/10 rating!

The food was wonderful!!! We were so thrilled this was our first homerun. The strawberry soup, was sooo much better that I had anticipated. The salads were great. DH had three helpings of prime rib, which was the best he had ever had. The potatoes were thick and delicious, I loved the mac and cheeese and corn from the kids section. The desserts were great too. Chocolate mouse, bread pudding, and ice cream bar, all of it was great! 2 adults $53.88...63.88 w/ tip..would pay OOP for this one. 9/10 rating.

We tried to get in here later in the week, but they were booked. Great dinner we will return, great quick trip from MK. Server was ok, very slow.

great reviews :goodvibes
Thanks for reading!! There are so many other good food reviews right now. I am using them to help plan for next year!! So far I think we will add Chef Mickey Breakfast and Tutto Italia!

Thank you so much for the reviews! I'm so glad to read that you enjoyed 1900 Park Fare. Most of the recent reviews I've read have said great things about the characters but weren't so complimentary about the food so I was worried about our ADR. So glad to hear that the food is good, I feel much better now! Can't wait for the rest of your reviews!

We had a lunch reservation for 12:30 and were seated after waiting for a few minutes. We already knew why we were there, to try the pot roast!! We ordered chocolate milkshakes with malt which came with the DDP, these were so good, the real thing, unlike WCC's shakes it put those to shame. They were thick and had real old fashioned malt powder in them. We both ordered the pot roast, it was very good, only problem, wish there was more of it. We finished with a brownie sundae (yummmmmmm) and the apple cobbler with ice cream, loved this. I could not find anything wrong with this meal, and we loved the atmosphere. Our waitress didn't play any funny jokes on us, but the one within ear shot was really giving it to the table by us, he was hillarious. Total with tip was $73! Yikes, a little steap if you were paying OOP, but wouldn't have ordered dessert normally. 10/10 rating!!!! Can't wait to go back.

Thank you for the great reviews. What a shame that so many of your table sevice meals were so bad. I'm glad you finally got a couple of good ones!! Fantastic pictures!

Wow, I haven't had an old fashioned malt since my mom used to make them for me as a kid. 50s Prime Time seems so fun. I don't really care to be messed with too much, but I just love the theme!

Great reviews and wonderful pics of all the food. :thumbsup2

I really want to try 50's Prime Time, but know that DH would be mortified if they messed with him too much - glad to hear that all the servers there aren't way OTT! :)
