We are new DVC members (and couldn't be more excited about it.) Does the BWV have a reliable system to store cold food if you bring it from another resort on check-in day? I don't want to buy a ton of perishables, take them to the BWV from the first resort during a split stay, and have them stored improperly before we can get into our room. Too much money down the drain for a big gathering!

And while we're on the subject, are there any problems with any of the DVC resorts re: food storage in this situation?

Thanks!

It is my understandiing that any of the resorts that have DVC properties attached have refrigeration for perishables provided.

I would suggest you package tham all in a cooler of some sort to keep them together and give them a little more insulation. I know folks who ave even purchased those cheap styrofoam coolers and discarded them when they left.

We've stopped and shopped on the way to check in at both BWV and OKW. We just had them bag all the food that needed to be frozen or refrigerated into seperate bags and the bell staff took care of it, no problems.

My family of 9 and I checked into BWV on Sat. 12/27/03, one of the busiest check-in days all year, and they accomodated 15 bags of groceries and about 6 of them were perishable. The bellhop didn't bat an eye as if he did this all the time.

I agree with the earlier suggestion...have the freezer and refrig items bagged separately from your non-perishables.
