Hi,
I was just wondering about how much $ I should be planning for these two items. We are going to WDW 4/28-5/5. It will be my dh,me, ds 2yr old, and my mother-in law. Right now, I am planning $100 a day for eating and $100 a day for souveniers etc. for each of the seven days we are there. Our hotel has free buffet breakfast every morning so the $100 is just for lunch and dinner. Another thing to mention is that we will only be in the parks for 5 of those days. We are going to 1900 Park Fare one night and Chef Mickey's another ( ds is free:) I think ) and I would love to try Le Cellier but other than that we will probably stick to counter service in the parks and maybe some sit-down meals at Crossroads. Does this budget sound on target? Thanks for any input!!:)

We took $400 spending money for dd, me, dd(7) and ds (15 months old) {ages at the time of last April's trip}. That allowed plenty of spending money and even some counter service restaurants. We did put a couple sounveniers on credit card and most restaurants on credit card. That was for 9 days last April 2001. To budget food this April 2002 trip, I went to www.wdwig.com and went thru the menus. I looked at items we might order and made the bubget. Our food budget (including a grocery shop trip) is $500 for 11 days. That includings 7 character meals, groceries ~ plan plan to eat lots of picnics and in room breakkies, counter services and food courts. We are taking $600 extra spending cash. Hope that helps. S
PS: our son is 2 and eats free at all preplated and buffets! S

As an adult a teen and a child, we go through about $100 a day, eating very well without skipping anything and with money for a little knick knack here and there.

We are not ultra big feeders, however. If we have a character buffet breakfast (only $16 adults, $9 children) at 9:00 - 10:00 AM, we aren't hungry again until past lunch, and we're talking about 4:00 - 5:00 PM. Lunch buffets are very filling too! We drink a lot in that place during the day, keeping us somewhat filled.

For dinner, normally I am not too hungry but the boys are. In that case, anything that we pick up at the resort will do, no need for large meals. The kids can have chicken, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, whatever. I'll just have some fruit or a salad. It all comes to way under $25, and we did not go hungry.

We aren't big eaters. I'm probably the one who likes to graze all day. If we have a character breakky, ($50), lunch will only be a granola bar (maybe! if we are hungry), dinner would likely be something light from a food court or counter service, we might even share a meal between to of us ($20 est). We have plenty of munchies if we get hungry later in the night (fruits, veggies, cookies, granola, crackers, bread, pbj etc.,.) If we aren't having a character breakky, we would eat in room, picnic lunch and food court or counter service ($30). S

Thanks for the info! It sounds like we will be all set as far as meals and spending $ goes. Now if I could just patiently wait for another whole month until we go!!:)

dinner for 4 at chef Mickeys is 70. plus tip so is aprk fair and scharcter breakfasts are 50. about pplus tip so you might need more than that but 700. for trinkets seems high so borrow from that to eat if you need too. :) Have a blast!
