  • Yes - but only at the non-signature restaurants

  • Yes - Share away! It's your vacation (Just not at V&As)

One of the big draws for DW & me at WDW are the numerous options for dining, and the different items on each restaurant's menu. Often DW & I are unsure whether it is "appropriate" to take a try of each other's meals. What do you guys think? Does anyone else do this?

I think it is fine. My DH and I do this all the time. We often order two different entrees and split them. If I'm not that hungry, I will sometimes just get an appetizer and take some of his food.

I absolutely think it's fine, especially since WDW's portions are so huge.

So Victoria, Albert and I say go for it.

We will order two entrees and share those between the two of us so that we can try different foods. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean buying one entree and both sharing it. If that is what you mean then no, I don't do that.

DH and I have done the Chef's Table at V&A numerous times. We most definitely share everything. We each order the suggested wine pairing and taste and share each other's wines as well. The chefs have often looked over and smiled approvingly, so it seems to me that sharing is not only okay, but is expected!

Totally think it's fine. Dh and I always order different appertizers, different entrees and sometimes 2 different desserts. We do this whether at home in atlanta or on vacation somewhere. Of course dh usually ends up eating most of his and half of mine. You would never no it b/c he's a tall lean thing through. Must be nice! :)

DF and I usually share an appetizer, (or two,) and then we each get our own entrees when we eat out. I usually get dessert also, I'd share, but DF isn't a dessert person.

I think it is fine. We do this a lot. And we usually only order 1 appetizer and share that, too. With appetizers you get soem places, if you each had one, you'd have no appetite left!!!!

The only way I dont agree is when you pay for a buffett, and then share with someone who isnt paying(but is supposed to, ie not a child 2 or under) since the buffett isnt bought by the plate and you could easily get extras to feed both parties a full meal. so you are gettign 2 for 1, instead of 1 for 1.

We were there last week and we shared everything, our servers thought it was cute that we kept switching dishes back and forth...they asked us which one we liked best but everything was awesome!

We always try to get different things and share. I love being able to try many different foods. I have never eaten at V&A though so I can't say anything about sharing there.

I think it is ok to share a meal as long as it is not off the buffet. I think that each person should pay for their own when eating at a buffet.

Why would it be inappropriate as long as it's not a buffet? You bought two meals, correct? Who cares who eats them? Two people, two entrees, totally normal. Even splitting one meal is quite common, although a sit down restaurant might charge you a little extra to do so. No biggie.

We share and/or split what we order all the time -- at local restaurants and WDW.

Yeah, our servers catch us passing plates around and just go with it. More often we just tell them that we will do a couple apps, a couple entrees, some wine and go from there.. save room for desserts. IIRC every server has been happy to bring extra plates, have dishes split in the kitchen. Best way to try a little of everything. FWIW.

The K-Man and I share our food ALL the time (well, except when the boss is around :rotfl2: :lmao: )

My mom and I often do more of a tapas style meal, where we'll get several appetizers to split, and only 1 entree, then a dessert to split. At Spoodles they even divide up the entree for us.

We're not big eaters, and we love to try lots of different things. To us it's part of the fun of eating. :goodvibes

We always do this. As long as it's not a buffet, I don't really see anything wrong with sharing.

At WDW, they won't let you do that. They charge you by the number of people in your party, regardless of how much or how little anyone eats. No one is going to be able to get away with the "oh, I'm not eating" excuse and then sneak food off of someone else's plate.

As for sharing at regular a la carte restaurants. I cannot imagine a restaurant at WDW where that would be a proble.
