Are we the only ones who loved the Food Rocks show at The Land? My DDs are sooo disappointed that it's gone. Forever???? We all loved the songs, especially the clever lyrics. Can you buy a copy of the soundtrack anywhere?

Every Bite You Take . . .

I'm with you on that one. I really enjoyed this show. I am hoping to find a video of it on line like I did with show that was in the area before Food Rock - it was Kitchen Kabere (? sp).

I have yet to find any thing with all the songs from the show. But I'm still looking.

My mom said when I was younger, that I went nuts for it. I am 14 now and still like it. On our trip in December we saw it for the last time. I took pictures of the sign and me infront of the sign. I will miss it. If I find anything like songs, I will let you know.

Hold the phone, food rocks is gone! Oh man that sucks, I love that attraction. Ok all in all kitchen cabaret was better, but food rocks matched right up to it. Why would they take that away. I thought it had the least amount of threats because there really isn't much space to put a new ride. Plus it tought food in a fun way. It was an original attraction. Dang u Eisner. Don't touch the food. What did they ever do to you lol.

Isn't that where the new "Soaring" ride is supposed to go? I won't miss Food Rocks in the least.

Yes, I believe that is going to be the queue area for Soarin'. The main attraction building is currently under construction next to The Land.

I just saw Food Rocks for the first time last year and I have to say it's a cute show. It's sad to see an attraction go, but I'm looking forward to Soarin'. One thing that strikes me as odd at a park that people always complain that there is not enough things to do with young children, why would Disney take out one of the attractions especially geared to that age group?

I miss Food Rocks too. On our recent trip we got to WDW the day Food Rocks was closing, but never made it to Epcot. :(

The_Disney_God, Soarin' is "Soarin' Over California." It is a very popular ride at DCA. I've never ridden it, but my understanding of the ride is that you are suspended so your feet dangle and you "soar" over different areas of California. I think there are smells piped in too, so like if you're over pine trees, you'd smell pine. It's supposed to open sometime in 2005 to coincide with DL 50th anniversary.

Thats what I thought, but I've been on that, and they can't do that in Food ROcks. The "Soarin' Over California" is a huge building with a huge queue, and it builds up real quick. I can't possibly see them doing the same thing in the Food Rocks area. the line would be out the main Land door.

I love Soaring over California. But I don't like the fact that they are going to have the exact same ride here in FL. I think that they should change the movie to reflect the fact that the ride will be in EPCOT. Like flying over the world or something like that.

Here is a link to a great Disneyland site. They have a video of the ride. Check it out!

This could be true, but you have to put the floor plan of the building in your head. You have waiting area one, then waiting area two. Then the main stage/seating area. Then the back stage area. Then I am sure that they will be building a small que area inside the building that they are now building.

Ok I don't get it. How could the queue line be where Food Rocks was. I saw the movie and everything and it is a seperate building with its own entrance which seems normal. I don't understand why they got rid of Food Rocks, that was a pretty good show and education. Plus all ages liked it. You know I think these ride removals are really getting out of hand. First Horizons, then World of Motion, and Figment (the good one), and now food rocks.

Plus I saw the Soarin' video, and has anyone been on it to tell us about it because from what I saw it looks pretty boring. I mean it doesn't seem like something I would continously go on. I will say that it is a nice 4 min. ride which Disney has a problem doing. A lot of rides are between 1min 30 sec. and 3 min. Hmm wonder how the public will react to this. What I find irritating is that the Disney parks don't have anything originality. Epcot is stealing soarin's fame and Motor Stunt Spectactular. Disneyland is stealing Tower of Terror. I think Eisner is calling some bad shots. You got to have completely different parks so that you have something to look forward to when you travel to the parks. Am I the only one who feels this way. I think they are just duplicating things. Disney World could soon be a Disneyland expect bigger. Oh BTW has anyone heard of that Motor Stunt Spectacular. Just from the sound of it is that it sounds very unmagical/not Disney, and something that wouldn't be seen numerous times. I want to know more. Thanks:hyper:

dogg, do you mean SOV? Because that had some breathtaking views of the state of Californa and was just cool to watch. Plus it always had a big line.

Disney puts rides in both WDW and DL because it brings in people. ToT is huge, and you will be able to see it from the streets surrounding DL. That will bring in people, which will bring in dollars, which will make the company richer.

DL and WDW are very very different. EVen if they have the same attractions, they aren't both the same. Pirates of the Caribbean is different in DL than it is in WDW.

Both are very different point, even from the look and setup.

The difference between the video and actually being on the ride is like night and day. The feeling of motion, the smells, the music surrounding you all make a difference. I've been to DLR twice since they opened Soarin' and have ridden it at least three times each trip and I'm not tired of it yet. It's a fantastic ride.

Oh so there is like smells and everything. Do you actually sit in your own hang glider or what? Do you have like a 360 view? See yeah I understand that they want to rake in the dow. but if you have completely different attractions, wouldn't that attract great business as well. Like I have annual passes for Disney world , but if I took a vaca to California, then I would buy tickets to Disney land you know. I saw on regis and kelly they tested the ToT at Disney Land. Obviously it was the same thing, but it has slight differences like the way you enter the hotel. So anyone know about the Motor Stunt Show, I stand by what I said previously about this ride. From what I know about soarin' now, I kind of want to see it now.

FR was a really cute show. It was getting a bit outdated though. Sure, at 30, I get all the jokes they're going for. But I imagine that most kids today don't know who Peter Gabriel is or the Police. *gasp* Let's not even bring up Tone Loc as Fud (say Food) Rapper
Anyway, I'll miss it, but more for nostalgia than entertainment value. I think getting "Soarin'" is an ample replacement.

The way that Soaring works is that you walk into a room with three row of seating, one row in front of the other. Each row holds about 10 people (not sure the exact numbers). Then before the movie starts the seats are suspending up to 45-feet in the air. The first row being the highest up, above the second row, and the third row being below the second, and its the lowest to the ground. You are now in front of an Omnimax projection dome, that wrapes you in a 180 degree viewing area. So even out of the corner of your eye you will see the movie. Most people like to get into the front row, because you don't have to worry about see the peoples feet who are above you. This way you really feel like you are flying.

Now as the movie moves along, you get the feeling of flying over some of California's most poplular sites. Like Yosemite falls, San Diego Bay, San Franciso's Golden Gate Bridge, Death Valley and Lake Tahoe, ending up at Disneyland during the fireworks show. All the while you feel the wind in your face, the smell of pine trees, grape vines etc...

I really do enjoy this ride, rode it three times on my last trip. I might ride it more on my next trip in Aug. I just feel that I would enjoy it more at WDW if it was going to have a diferent move. I did hear a rumor that a new movie is in the making, but it will not be ready for the opening in FL, so it will be added later. One only hopes.

Now as for the Motor Stunt Show, that we are getting from Paris Studios. To my understanding it to will be a duplicate. But this I am not 100% sure of. It is the most popular attraction in the studio park, but to my understanding, it is the only good thing about the park. From what I have read on other message boards, some people would just go to the park to see the show, and leave the park. So for this attraction, I am having a wait and see kind've attitude. I have a big feeling that the first time that I see it will be the only time that I will see it. We'll see!
