I've seen a number of threads were people have said they had a potato martini bar. My planner is trying to fnd a picture of one to show me. Does anyone have a picture they can post? Sounds very cool!

DisneyNyBride, welcome to the Dis!

Until someone comes along to post their photos, I thought I'd do a quick search of the 'net to see what popped up. Here's what I found -- I hope it helps.

Click here for photo to following description:

Martini Mashed Potato Bar served in elegant martini glasses
wasabi and traditional mashed potato
Vegetarian or Meat Chili
Asian Stir Fried Veggies
Sour cream
Shredded Cheese
crispy bacon
Jalapenos

Here is someone else's description & photos: "This was the topping set up for the martini mashed potato bar. People are still talking about it. It was so good!" Click here for photo. And click here to see photo of someone "piping potato into the martini glasses."

Lastly, here's a small description of what one caterer offers: "Mashed Potato Bar With The Works (condiments such as caviar, green onions, bacon, pico de gallo and more!)". If you click here, the last photo on the webpage shows martini glasses with mashed potatoes & toppings in them.

Hopefully, someone will come along soon to post photos of what was done at their event.

Believe it or not, I was just on the Idaho Potato official website (yes, it really does exist!). Here is a list of what they suggest for a mashed potato martini bar:

i had the potato martini bar, but can't find pics of them...it was a real hit with our guests, everyone loved it!

we had yukon gold, sweet potatoes and purple peruvian potatoes with lots of different sides.

it was $13/pp and i thought it was the coolest thing we did!

Thank you all for sending the information! It looks delicious!!! I never would have even thought of mashed potatoes.

Caryn, may I ask, did you use the potato bar for reception or pre-reception?

wow that is such an awesome idea...but we will be having abrunch.. wonder if they would like it at the dessert party haha

This was served as an appetizer at our company Christmas party and it was a huge hit. Who doesn't love mashed potatoes!

Quick question - If I'm having a plated dinner, can I still have the mashed potatoe bar during my reception? Or is it only a buffet thing? It sounds so cool!
