I just notice the popcorn buckets have gone up from 6.50 to 8.50!! Also, I love the enchiladas from Rancho Zocola, they were 10.49. Now 11.99!! Plaza inn fried chicken almost 18.00. I love Disney from my first trip to WDW in 1992. However, with the price increases, I do not know, if we can frequent Disneyland. We plan 250 dollars a day for food, for our family. We go for ,5 days, but now it's just to much!

Yikes! Those are some big increases on already expensive food!! Between that and the ticket increase and the continuous stream of high CL days... Sigh why do we have to love Disney so darn much haha it would be much cheaper to like normal vacations that's for sure!

Yep! They seemed high last month. First time I've ever thought food was overpriced.

There are places to eat outside of the parks if you need to - we did eat in the parks for at least one full meal a day but you do not have to eat every meal there - plenty of places across the street on Harbor offer much more reasonable prices.

We have a small breakfast in hotel, one big meal a day and one small one in the park. Family of four typically spends $100 a day on food in Disney, 2 adults, 2 kids. This isn't counting the once a trip Blue Bayou meal of course which is $150 on its own!

Prices are definitely going up, but many of the meals at DLR are easily shareable. The fried chicken dinner at PI can generously feed 2 adults, so $18 = $9 per person. Not bad at all by Disney standards. Drinking water instead of sodas and sharing meals and snacks makes our food budget stretch farther so that we can still enjoy food in the parks without breaking the bank.

Wow, those are some decent increases. Like the PP stated, we find many of the meals big enough to share but still, our wallets will feel it.

Especially if you were sharing meals already as a means of making it affordable.

Affordable and more healthy really. I don't like to tour the parks stuffed to the gills. We'll be there next week. I'll be curious to see how it all works out or changes what/the way we order.

That meal was $14 on our prior trip. Yikes!

For some reason, I can deal with ticket price increases mentally, but this irritates me, lol.

I hate paying a ton for food in general, I guess.

When you get a Disney survey via email or at the parks, be sure to tell them how you feel about the constant price increases.

It makes total sense. You can't experience Disney attractions anywhere except their theme parks so you don't mind paying a premium. On the other hand you can find better food for lower prices almost anywhere else.

I think you are right, haha.

I also noticed the increase in food prices. We almost didn't renew our annual passes because of the price increase on passes/tickets. :sad2:

Totally agree with sharing meals, especially if you want to eat at the more pricier restaurants. The other night DH and I had dinner at Cafe Orleans in DLR. We observed two young ladies who ordered Pommes Frites and sodas as their meal since everything else was twice the price or more. Or maybe they just really wanted to eat expensive french fries, who knows? :confused3 Even though we get an AP discount food in the parks is just pricey. DH and I still ended up purchasing separate entrees, but he ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich and I ordered the Crescent City Salad so that we could share and have a more balanced meal. And we always just order water. Sweet treats like Ice cream from Gibson Girl is easily shareable, too. Buying two single scoop regular cones is more expensive than two (or more) people sharing one sundae and easier on the calorie intake. :thumbsup2

I agree with this - we find the servings are larger than is needed for one person but that is not a Disney thing - that is an American thing. Coming from Canada we have always noticed portion sizes to be much larger in the U.S. - we'd be stuffed if we finished every meal so sharing is often the only solution. But if this is already your strategy then you are going to still see an increase. However, everyone is complaining about food prices going up these days, so I guess the food increases at the grocery store are eventually going to be see in eating establishments too. Those are some significant increases though - good thing the cauliflower crises is over!!

Everything is going up so this doesnt surprise me, we dont eat every meal at the Parks anyway... we will just keep on bringing snacks and sandwiches with us, eat outside (Mimi's Cafe is an excellent option and they frequently send you 2-4-1 coupons via email) and do 1 meal inside and, yes, share it.

As long as the beers and cocktails dont go up (so much at least) I am good :lovestruc
