Food on Disney transportation?

If I get a snack or CS meal to go can I carry it onto the transportation with me? I was most curious about water transportation. For example, if I get food in Germany and want to watch Illuminations from France can I ferry across the lagoon with my food? Or outside the parks can I ferry from DHS to Epcot or DTD to POFQ with food?

If so can we eat our snacks while out on the water or is eating not allowed?

We have a couple of times where it would be nice to just grab food on our way to somewhere else but I wasn't sure if this was permitted.

You aren't supposed to have food on any of the modes of transportation in WDW...bugs are a huge issue down there. If you were to bring something, boxed up, then you should be fine. But I wouldn't plan on buying a burger meal and eating it on the boat.
