I used to really enjoy the food network but not any more. They remind me of Channel 5 (where I grew up) the rerun channel that showed all the old tired sitcoms and old cartoons ~ Flintstones, Jetsons, Brady Bunch, Different Strokes etc... They seem to have 10 shows that they play over and over and over. I'm sick of Bobby Flay, Paula Deen, Giada, Rachael, Food Network Challenge, Iron Chef blah blah blah. Are these the only chefs in America??

At the holidays I always looked forward to seeing the special they did with Sara Moulton on cookie swaps. I'm a baker so they showed you cookies woman (and men) around they country were making for their holiday platters. I got some good recipes and really enjoyed the show.

I know what you mean. If and when I do watch TV, most of the time it's the Food Network. But lately, it seems as though there are more reruns than ever. Isn't anyone making new episodes? I'm tired of watching Rachael Ray (I can't stand all the "fun" ways she says all her dishes) DRIVES ME NUTS!!!

My fave is Diners Drive Ins and Dives.

And it really bugs me when the holidays roll around and the show the SAME tired old Christmas/Thanksgiving specials. I want to see NEW ONES!!!

Part of the problem is I still like the old shows and wish they would do more of them because I really don't like the newer shows they have.

I can't stand "give me a little sugar Neeleys" and I don't like any of the new weekend shows they have on and I really don't like Iron Chef or Ace of Cakes.

The only newer show I really like is Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Yep, we've strayed as well. They need to 'spice' it up.

used to love love love the food network - but i've moved on...

when they start airing new shows, i'll be back.

I find myself watching the Food Channel quite often and I agree that they will get on one chef and use them until the bottles empty.

If I were on that network and I saw that I had about a half a dozen shows, I would start working on my resume. Nothing kills them quicker than over exposure. Example? Whatever happened to Emril? One "bam" to many, I'm thinking.

You cannot be serious with the Neeleys. Have any two people ever sounded any more insincere than those two? OMG, I can't watch it for over 3 minutes before I start to gag.

I used to love the Travel Channel (especially if Samantha Brown was on) but lately I have to believe that they have fired the programmer and just make a continuous loop and show the same Andrew Zimmer (sp?) and Anthony (whatshisname) 'No reservations' over and over. I suspect to cut costs the network has gone down to a one day work week and have installed a 6 disc DVD player that runs continuously while everyone has gone home.

PS. I still love Samantha Brown.

I wish they would have "retro" days..... where they play the shows from 5 - 10 years ago.... I would love to see Two Hot Tamales again! I enjoyed "Taste", and "Michael's Place", among others.

I think the whole network went downhill since the first time they aired Jamie Oliver.

Best show on the network right now, I agree. Oh, and I HATE Ace of Cakes... blech, blech, blech!

I love Tyler's ultimate and I used to love the Budget Gourmet or whatever that show was with David Lieberman. I would think that one should be on now with the economy the way it is. His recipes were delicious. and simple and cheap!!

I enjoy Paula's original show- not the new format one so much. and that's about all I watch. I do sometimes watch Giada but lately it does seem like it's the same shows over and over*maybe she's on maternity leave???

I used to love that show Best Of. And the one that traveled to cities and showed you where to eat. I got great vacation ideas from that show. I agree they are losing their flare now. Go back to the basics Food TV! I used to love cooking diner with Sara Moulton every night at 6.

I still watch the Food Network Challenge shows sometimes, but you're right, we've already seen many of them more than once.

I really like The Chef Jeff Project. Last year Chef Jeff was shown on a Disney show & DH & I talked about how great his program was & we enjoyed watching him work with kids. We were thrilled that he received his own show.

I love the food network. They can sometimes over-do it though with certain chefs.

My current favorite show is Diners, Drive ins & Dives. Love it!!

Love Food Network and Travel Channel but they have strayed away from what made them great and that is sad. I think my favorites on Food Network right now are Diner's, Drive-in and Dives and I still like Alton brown a lot.

I ♥ the Food Network! Watch it all the time and never get tired of it.
