Food Network Disney Unwrapped

I missed it- was away during both showings and forgot to tape it- but it will be on again on June 21st at 6PM.

I think I have seen it before now that I think about ,it but it has definitely been a long time. since I last did.

And I totally agree that Food Network should fly back to WDW to make a more updated show. ::yes:: That would be great.

Lisa and I are in this episode. We are the women eating and talking about the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars.

We were at the MK killing time before our flight home when we saw them filming something. I recognized Marc Summers and had a feeling it was Unwrapped. A CM confirmed it and then asked if we wanted to be in the show. They needed people to sample and talk about the Mickey Premium Ice Cream bar. Of course we said yes!

We had to wait a bit for them to set up the shot and while we were waiting Marc Summers came over to talk to us. He was very nice and fun to talk to. When we started filming they wanted us to "purchase" some ice cream, taste it and talk about it. I figured that if I kept talking they would have to use some of the footage and I was right. I am the one talking about the "rich, dark chocolate". They had to give us several ice cream bars as they kept melting in the heat.

At the end of the shoot Goofy came up behind us and "goosed" us both. It was totally unexpected and unscripted. It was silly fun and we were very surprised to see it used both in the promotions for the show and the show itself.

Mini wedding cakes...Are these for guests at an actual Disney wedding only? Does anyone know if they are something you can purchase just like the other many cakes they have for individual purchasing also? Like say for an anniversary celebration or something.popcorn::

I've seen this show a couple of times - but for the first time ever - noticed how they took the wedding cake away and cut off the fondant before serving it!

I had heard that they did this; but interesting to see. BTW the charge for taking the cake from the bakery to the reception is $500 "cake handling" fee. And the cutting is $5.00 a slice :faint:

Are you sure the cake wasn't priced at $5/slice? That is how a LOT of cake bakers price wedding cakes! ;)

^^^

Yes, I have heard of that sort of pricing per cake. But I read a post from a bride to be on the Weddings Board, who was in shock when she received her Estimated Total Cost.

About the $5 a slice cutting fee she asked if she and her groom could please cut it themselves! :thumbsup2

I know at the GF bakery they will do any kind of cake you want for any occasion (anniversary, birthday or what have you)-but be prepared for the sticker shock. :scared1:

This is an old show and will have some restaurants featured that no longer exist, at least not in the way they are shown in the program.
True....like the yumbo extra thing onion rings from 50's.....they have changed so many things recently! It's a bummer......

How cool is that! I just wanted to say, I fell asleep halfway through, but I did see your segment, and I thought, wow, that woman is really having a good time!

Now I know that woman was you!

Looks like it was a great experience.:goodvibes
