Hello my lovely WISH-ERS!! I wanted to share with you my most recent blog post. I go out on a limb, and rant a little bit about people who try to sabotage our healthy eating ways... and talk about a movie that is out called Food, Inc. The trailer is on the left side of the screen- I hope it changes your life!! I love my WISH-ERS and DIS-ERS!!

huh! i hadn't even heard of this movie....looks great!

I'm always looking for contemporary issues to tie into the U.S. history classes I teach. This film may just help my students understand how our mechanized farming of the late 1800s into 1900s ran amuck. Trying to find a way to view Food Inc. next week.

Also, I just finished reading Jillian Michaels' new book "Master Your Metabolism." She delves into similar issues and that our country's ability to cheaply produce wheat, corn, and soybeans has lead food manufactures to find a way to use it in almost everything available on the majority of shelves in our grocery stores. Furthermore, that "diet" food (It may say 100 cal. pack, but...) created to help people be most health conscious actually makes our body crave even more junk and leads to more over-eating. Pretty scary stuff!
