Hiya all

Just wondered what most of you have found the best option with regard to food during your stay. Do you pre-book food, or buy when there ? and I guess do you get time to eat with all the running about and queuing :rotfl:

Suppose its quite nice to have a break part way through the day - or do you find the little uns want to keep going ?

We will be going in April (with our 7 year old daughter). Is it worth booking a character breakfast, dinner or tea ?

Any feedback on what you found best would be great !

Hi,

I'd say its worth booking at least one character meal. Sometimes there are big scrums for characters in the parks, and at least at the character meals they come to you individually, round each table in the restaurant. You get some time with them, and they'll gladly pose for photos and sign autographs, with none of the melee that goes on around them in the parks.

I've done the character tea party at the Plaza Gardens with DD age 5, then last month we did character dinner at Cafe Mickey, and this time round we're planning on doing the character lunch at the Lucky Nugget saloon.

I haven't been to DLRP at a busy time yet, so we've usually taken time out at least one of the days we are there to have a good sit-down leisurely lunch (Rainforest cafe in the Village is my favourite so far for this - as theres entertainment all around you in there while you're eating ;) ).

But, if you're feeling energetic and want to dash about the parks, there are also plenty of grab-and-go places you can try.

We've also done the tea party at Plaza Gardens and would recommend it.

We've always been there at busy times so the park is open later and have found having a main sit down meal at lunch time a real bonus.
It gives us chance to escape the crowds for a while, recharge our batteries and also we arent trying to compete with the masses for a table in the evening.

We have always done a tea at Cafe Mickey, like DLPdaft said they come to your table so your little ones get the chance to see the characters without the queues so they spend a bit more time with them.

I would definitely recommend a character meal. :thumbsup2 The character interaction is great :thumbsup2 plus it's nice to sit down for a decent meal rather than surviving on fast food. I prefer to do a character lunch or dinner but others prefer the character breakfast or the character tea at Plaza Gardens.
