We are heading to Disneyland next week for the first time. We normally go
to WDW Florida. I am looking for a few different, Disney feel, type places to
eat. If you have ever been to WDW, I am looking for something fun like
Whispering Canyon, SciFi Diner... These are fun places for the kids (9 & 11)
and fun for us too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Paradise Pier has a character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.

Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is fun.

There's the Story Teller restaurant in the Grand Californian that does some character meals.

The Plaza Inn in Disneyland also does a character meal.

A little on the pricier side but a must do would be the Blue Bayou in New Orleans Square. If you like fancy, adult dinners, you can try the Vinyard Room at California Adventure. CA also has Ariel's Grotto which has a Princess Character lunch/dinner.

There are also some fun restaurants in Downtown Disney

Unfortunately, DL does not have the same number of choices as the restaurants at WDW but there are few good ones.

Check out http://www.allearsnet.com/dlr/din/dining.htm, they have a list of the DL resort restaurants and menus.

Bon Appetit!!! :)

With the smaller size there aren't near as many restruants, and none that have the theaming like sci fi. Charactor meals are well covered above.

some of my favorite places to eat are in NOS with the music playing, or in the tomorrow land theater area when they have a band going.

And to me, the best bang for the buck is probably at rockets in tomorrowland with the pasta plates.

I don't know if you have a Rain Forest Cafe in your area; if not, I highly recommend the one in DTD. My DD9 loved the animatronic animals and the periodic rain storms, and we really liked the food, too. I do suggest making reservations, though, because walk-ins can mean waiting for an hour or more. (We've made ressies both times we ate there)
