Food/Grocery Budget

Ok, can someone PLEASE explain this whole CVS appeal to me?

Maybe it's just that I don't feel like I spend that much money on HBA items to make it worth a trip to CVS because it all seems like such a freaking HASSLE to get these items on the cheap! A few posts earlier someone was saying "I will have to make 5 trips or transactions to get this deal..." WHAT???

I don't understand how people have the patience! That would drive me CRAZY to go through all that just to save $1.00 here and there or even to get an item for free. I just price match everything to Wal-mart and use coupons. Maybe it's all the Extra Care Bucks that makes it all worth while to buy things :confused3 but I've read on so many of these discussions how you have to buy things you won't even use to get the ECB's...?? How does that benefit people? I've read the explanations over and over on how much people seem to save but good lord it seems like such a PITA to get it all accomplished...am I totally wrong? Maybe I should ask Santa for a years worth of PATIENCE next year and I'll understand just how much people are saving.:lmao:

It is a PITA hence my lack of doing so anymore. LOL But it works best of you have a CVS within 2miles of your house. Then as you pass by or if they are friendly you can just do it in 5 back to back transactions..actually the seperate transactions are mostly for Walgreens which is a huge PITA and they can be mean to boot. Not that it isn't worth your time but if you are into it then you don't normally mind.

I budget $400/month for just DH and myself. We have a date night budgeted once a month but any food outside of that goes in the food budget (including eating out). I know we could do it cheaper but we splurge at the grocery store sometimes
