We are 100 days out from our Disney trip and in 10 days we're having the first of 3 family dinner nights centered around a Dinsey movie or character to get ready for the trip. I've decided our first dinner will be themed in Monsters University since we just saw the movie and the kids are pretty into it. I have a few ideas for decorations, but I can't seem to remember the kind of food they ate in the movie. What was served up in the Monsters Cafeteria??:scratchin

They dumped a garbage can on the table... You might have to be creative. Sully salad. Mike meatballs. Etc.

Maybe anything school or graduation related? Like those cookies you can make that look like graduation hats - mini Reeses' cup on the bottom with some kind of square choc. covered cookie on top of that and I forget what's used to look like a tassle. Some kind of licorice maybe? I'm sure you could find a better description googling it.

When we did a Monsters, Inc. Disney night I did applesauce tinted blue for "Sully sauce", "Randall bacon strips", and made Mike & Sully cupcakes - the Sully ones I used a tip to squirt/swirl blue and purple icing to look like his fur and the Mike ones were green with a white icing circle and green M&M in the middle. Can't remember what else I made...

Ummm, yeah, we're not eating out of the garbage can:lmao: BUT, I could use mini garbage cans as serving dishes or maybe one big one as a center piece. Thanks, great idea!

Blue applesauce.....my kids will love this. Thank you!:thumbsup2

Are you familiar with a low country boil? Potatoes, shrimp, corn on the cob, sausages are all cooked in one big pot. Many people dump it all out on butcher paper in the middle of the table when serving. You could do this to mimic the garbage can scene.

THIS! It would be perfect! (And yummy too!)
Sounds like fun! :)

That is an awesome idea !!

Well, I actually just finished reading through the Monsters, Inc. story time book (can't think of the exact name). It's one of a whole story time series of Disney books...but in the book they mention SEVERAL "monsterous" foods that the characters either love/make/eat. There are two stories specifically that I can think of that deal with food. One has Sulley competing in a Monster's Inc. Cook-Off (they have severals foods there) and another that features a monsterous birthday cake for Mike. I would HIGHLY recommend reading through it for ideas, not only for names (Aunt Sulley's Sewage Soup), but for pictures to get an idea of what you could use ("rotten eggs benedict")

find out what your kids favorite cafateria foods are and serve those. you can get those rectanguloar foam dispasable plates and use those and have them go through the 'lunch line'

good luck!
