Is it possible for 2 adults with a food budget of $310.00, for spending 6 nights?. Can we get away with just a lite breakfast(muffin/bagel with coffee or tea) , sandwich for lunch with water/milk, and quick count service dinner. Please let me know thanks.

Assuming 6 days as well, that is 50.00 a day. Very doable. Bring breakfast foods and snacks from home. Share some meals, drink water with meals and you can spend 20.00 for each CS meal and have 10.00 left over for a micky bar or two. You will have to be careful and look at menus and prices.

we have downloaded the app on touringplans.com for our android phone . It has a sections that you can "browse menus by location that makes knowing the price before you go.

If you're talking 7 days, that's about $22 apiece per day. Unless you're bringing breakfast foods and snacks with you, I'm going to say that your food budget is too tight. Just a muffin and coffee at the resort is going to run you about $4.50-$5.00, once you add in the sales tax.

We have to leave for the airport by 8am on the 7 day:guilty:. But looking for ways to save up for our next trip at the end of June:banana:

if you bring food from home, maybe. one thing my mother does, is she hates disney coffee. she gets starbucks via and uses the coffee pot in the room to heat up water (although she uses bottled water, so you would need that from somewhere). that would save you $ on breakfast.

personally i get really hungry with all the walking, so I could not go on that little, but everyone's eating habits are different. is there any reason you are going for a total of 6 days and budgetted so little for food? can you come up with some more in case you need it?

I budget $100/day for our family of 4. So 50/day for 2 I would say YES it can be done. As others have stated, bring breakfast with you. Big saver is knowing that a cup of ice water is FREE at counter service places. Since I like water I pay usually under $10 for a meal. Another good value - Sunshine Seasons in Epcot (near Soaring) I get the kids Chicken Caesar Salad which is a decent amount of salad and chicken with a side item and a drink for $6.

Where will you get the sandwich stuff for lunch?

Maybe you could get a kids meal and a regular meal and share. Also, pack things in your suitcase, such as protein bars, fruit, and packets of oatmeal.

I would bring with me some items for breakfast. Pop tarts or another cereal bar. I always bring a big bag of trail mix and a few ziplock baggies. In the morning before leaving for the parks I fill the ziplock with trail mix. This is a good item to snack on while touring the parks.

For lunch we have gotten the Wetzel pretzel dog at DTD for $3.99 each and its very filling. Earl of sandwich has tomato soup for $2.99 a cup and it is good - so if the hot dog is not filling enough you could walk a few feet over to Earl of Sandwich and have some soup and spend $7.00 a person for lunch.

The chicken nacho's at Big River Grille and Brewing at the Boardwalk is $13.00 and is huge. It could feed 3 people. We (me and DH) had a hard time finishing it. We had water to drink.

For Breakfast you could eat a late breakfast at a table service place but eat late like 10:30 and it could serve as breakfast and lunch. Most places take breakfast reservations as late at 10:45. I know at the Whispering Canyon you can get an omelet for breakfast for $12.00 a person(egg, potato and biscuit) and that should keep you going for awhile.

The BC Marketplace servers a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg & cheese) on a huge slice of bread and comes with a side of hashbrown casserole. $7.00

I'm assuming that $100/day is not for 4 adults? It's much cheaper to feed young children ( thereby freeing more money for the adults' meals).

I don't think that it would be impossible for the OP to manage on such a sparse budget. But it is going to be very difficult to do, especially if she expects to pay for 3 meals per day for 2 adults.

I think it's possible if you're smart and scrutinize your money well.

I'm assuming, though, that you will bring breakfast and lunch items from home. I'm also assuming that you aren't counting those groceries as part of your budget.

If you eat breakfast in your room, pack lunches and snacks to bring into the parks I think you could do dinner on $44 a day (if 6 nights = 7 days). I don't think that $44 a day is enough to buy lunch and dinner, since most QS adult meals are in the $10 range, plus or minus. That would be too tight for my comfort.

Check Allears.net to see menus and estimate your dining costs.

I would mentally break it down. You have about $25 per person per day
If you do
$5 breakfast
$8.00 Lunch
$12.00 Dinner

Let me do a hypothetical Menu for MK:

Breakfast: Starbucks, Main Street: Sausage and Cheddar Sandwhich $4.49

Lunch: Sleepy Hallow, Liberty Sq: Ham, Prosciutto and Swiss Waffle Sandwich $7.19

Dinner: Cosmic Ray's, Tomorrowland: 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken - with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $9.99

Each of these has a little left for taxes and for dinner you could combine the left over change and share a drink.

It CAN be done but it might be a stretch, you would be living off of ice water (I am a person who does not mind that, but some do) and all counter service.
If you manage to pack both breakfast (granola Bars, poptarts, etc) and snacks. Then your breakdown looks a lot better.

Approx $10 Lunch & $15 dinner. Less limiting and might be able to get a beverage.

If that is all the money you have, it can be done. You will really have to hunt out those bargains and I would do a lot of pre-planning from the menus online.
It would be easier if you CAN budget more but possible if you are willing to put in the extra effort.

I, like another poster, get extra hungry walking around all day. I am one a tight budget too and planning to bring lots of snacks.

Think about meal-sharing. My DH and I sometimes split the breakfast platter at POFQ, it's pretty big. We are northerners so having a biscuit AND a waffle for breakfast is weird. I found out that you can get two waffles instead of the biscuit and this makes it much more shareable. Also I like to start my big day of walking with protein, so I order just a side of eggs. It's not on the menu but it's a pretty big scoop of scrambled eggs for not too much money.

The aforementioned rotisserie chicken at Cosmic Ray's is a whole half-chicken and also easy to share. Flame Tree BBQ at AK has something similar. Also, most of the combos can be split into individual items- so if you don't want the chips, say, you can save a couple of bucks off the combo price. Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's have "fixin's" bars which can help stretch a single meal into two servings. At Pecos, you could get the taco salad and LOAD up the toppings, making it pretty big and filling.

We always bring Pop Tarts and Fig Newtons, which helps when we don't want a big meal.

If you're going during hot/ humid season, then it should be easier because that kind of weather really kills our appetites!

We are bring breakfast stuff from home (we eat late around 10:30 or 11am) and will be have coffee and tea in our room(also from home) never eat a big lunch(if we go out we split a subway sandwich). And I always drink water.

My DH has never care where we eat,and doesn't mind splitting a meal. He teases me that it keeps us close

So I have come up with about $180 more for a budget and still hoping we can do it. So a total of $490.00.

Before I forget - does anyone know the price for a bottle or a 2 liter of Coke at the Hess gas station by BoardWalk??

TIA
We will be in Orlando in less than 24 hours :woohoo::woohoo:
