I was just trying to get my plans in order for our daily routine/schedule. I was just wondering if it were possible to just grab our breakfasts from the resort and eat them on the buses while they are transporting us to the different parks? That would definatley save us some time!

Thanks in advance for your answer!!!

IMHO, I wouldn't try to eat on the buses, between the stopping and going, and turning corners, it would be very challenging at the least.

I always thought open food and beverages were not permitted on the buses. Isn't there signs to this affect somewhere or am I dreaming?

Nope, having a meal on the way to the parks is not allowed. You can bring a granola bar or such but that's about it. Drinks must be covered.
There is a huge 'bug' issue at WDW...can you imagine the time it would take to thoroughly clean each bus if there were food involved??
Plan on eating breakfast at either your resort or in the parks.

Absolutely, positively, no food, including granola bars, on buses. Because you know where that wrapper ends up, on the floor. And as posted, no uncovered drinks.

Prior to every bus trip an announcement comes on the PA that says "we ask that you refrain from eating, drinking, and smoking".

Most drivers do enforce if they see it, but some people still do it.

All buses are washed inside and out every night.

Let's see. Besides it not being allowed. Saving time by doing this? Having a 3 year old eat and drink on a moving bus? The time that might have been saved by not sitting down and eating/drinking before boarding the bus might will be used up (or more) to get some new clean clothes on that same 3-year old. Let alone the time it would use up if child spills food and/or drink and you'ld need to get replacement for that.

Nah, I would advice on not doing so. ;) If you want to safe time; look into having breakfast items in the room. This way you don't have to hit the foodcourt to get something to eat and drink*. While adult 1 is showering, adult 2 can grab a bite to eat and help child to eat. Reverse the roles between the adult. You'll safe more time by having things right up for grabs in the room and not having to go to the foodcourt first thing in the morning than the bus-eating option.

*fill your drinkmug last thing before hitting bed and put it in the fridge; voilà morning drink. Fruit, some dessert, pastries, bars etc. do great in the fridge for a next morning.

I always cluelessly drank my coffee on the bus every morning. As a jaded public transportation user, I'm used to drowning out announcements and such and doing the stare ahead and hoping no one notices me and I don't notice them. :lmao: Then we were riding on a practically deserted bus to a water park one morning and my little son says, "Mommy, is this a CTA vehicle?" "Um, well, no, but kinda like a CTA vehicle - just that it's a Disney vehicle." {takes a sip of coffee}... "Mommy - eating, drinking, smoking, soliciting, and loud music is prohibited on CTA vehicles."

Yeah... so after my baby called me out on the rules, I started listening to them myself. Out of the mouths of babes... ;)

You gotta love it, they often see, hear and remember a lot more than they get credit for......:rotfl:

True, but you could get away with a granola bar. I would expect the wrapper to not be left behind. But, that may be asking too much of some.
I fully understand about not eating or drinking on the buses. But...I have been on many buses where the driver has NOT enforced that rule. Drives me nuts. I certainly don't like sitting next to someone, on the bus, as they eat their breakfast burrito!!!

If you're planning on getting to the parks before rope drop, you could grab something portable for breakfast and eat it while waiting for the park to open.

On our trip a few weeks ago, we were on a bus to a park and a lady had brought 2 bananas to eat on the way. She had just taken a bite when she heard the announcement, stating no eating, drinking or smoking. She shrugged her shoulders, finished her banana and then proceeded to peel into her second banana. Her DH was embarrrased (sp?) but could only just roll his eyes at that moment.
The bus was not very full, and she was in plain sight of the driver. I kinda wish he would have said something to her, but yet, it's not my problem,if the driver does not enforce the rules.
I have seen everthing imaginable eaten on the transport bus..from fruit to sandwiches, to crumbly muffins, to drippy ice cream. But I agree that I would not want to tempt fate with a 3yr old trying to eat on a moving bus. Not to mention, sometimes the "rope drop" early bus can be very crowded.

In the past we would bring bottles of Chocolate Milk on the buses, however since we will still had the caps on they were covered and it wasn't an issue brining them on.
