Okay so I read somewhere that if you work in a food service related position that you receive a bigger discount than the normal 20% discount regular cp's receive. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also, are there employee cafeterias or something in the various parks? I've heard of people taking their lunch breaks there and I'm a little confused.

There's a cast cafeteria at each of the parks. I'd guess there's something at the resorts, but I'm not sure, I only ever worked in the parks.

Everyone gets the same 20% discount on merchandise & fsfb. qsfb discounts are only available at the resorts & dak. The only way to get more than 20% off merch is if you are full time for more than 3 years (i think), then it goes up to 35% or at the holidays, when it is either 40% or 50%.

I worked at the boardwalk resort and we had a cafeteria with an outside vendor that ran a concession stand type kitchen. They tried to have something different each day as well as some everyday items. When I worked at magic kingdom the cafeteria was huge. It had a subway and some other places in there. It was pretty sweet!!

Yes you're right. After 3 years it goes up to 35%.

Of course when you use the 20% at a table service, the waiter automatically gets an 18% tip...so you only really get 2% off

Actually you would still get the 20% off. You would tip the waiter around 18% anyway.

Without discount:

$100
+ $18 (18% x $100)
_______
$118

With discount:

$80 ($100 - $20, $20 = 20% off $100)
+$14.40 (18% x $80)
________
$94.40

$118 x 20% = $23.60

$118 - $23.60 = $94.40, your price after the 20% discount. So you do actually get the full 20% off.

The tip is still calculated on full price.

With discount:

$80
+ $18
_______
$98

So you're only getting 2% off from the total ($100). However - it is like getting a free tip!

The added benefit of the discount is that you are paying less in tax.

Ok, was not aware the tip was taken from the full price, but even still $98 is quite a savings from $118.

There's a subway in the breakroom at Hollywood Studios too,
