Food costs in resort stores

Hi all, does anyone know prices of food in the Disney Resort stores, eg fultons store at POR? Thinking about Water, cereals, milk, soda, crisps, snacks, yoghurt - general breakfast and snack items, etc..
Just wondering if it is worth us getting a taxi to a food store or doing a Garden Grocer delivery when we don't need too much. Wondering how much we need to buy at a resort store before it's worth going to the trouble of going offsite or ordering online.
Thank you

It is a few years ago now, but I evaluated that I saved the Garden Grocer delivery fee just over the cost of a case of water vs bottled water in the parks.

First of all Welcome to the Dis Springtime Girl! Someone here may have the exact prices, certainly there is a markup on everything sold at resort stores. You didn't mention beer but the markup on it is ridiculous, wine & spirits less so but still higher than liquor or grocery stores. If you're only getting a few items for a short stay you're probably fine at the resort store. For longer trips or more elaborate food orders I'd def. get a grocery delivery. It wouldn't take much in Disney markups to cover the cost of the delivery service, if that makes sense.

I think we paid around $4 for a half a gallon of milk. I know we paid $8 for a 1/2 lb package of bacon. Bread was a lot, too and so were the dozen eggs. But since we brought our own snacks, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, butter, hot cocoa mix, and popcorn it would have cost us more had we used Garden Grocer or similar service.

Here is one example-Powerade I can get at home for .79 a bottle is $3.49 at the Mouse House.

And Mickey doesn't feel the least bit "guilty" at his Mice Price!lol:)

Definitely and also very likely Fulton's will not have some items you would want.:)

:)Thank you all so much. Such a great welcome to Disboards. All your advice has been really helpful. We are now thinking we will Uber to Walmart or garden grocer an order.

Good choice! I think you'll be money ahead even if you don't consume everything you buy (within reason of course.):) We always have a rental car and we actually enjoy our trip to Publix to stock the room with goodies. :earsboy:

If I just need some half and half and a snack or two, then I use the resort store. But, as soon as I spend more than $10 or so, it makes more sense to pay the delivery charge with Garden Grocer and get everything I need. The prices are so much higher at the resorts, that after a bit, the difference in prices (resort vs GG) makes up for the delivery charge. And you get closer to what you want with GG.

Which is the nearest Publix please?

Be aware it's now confirmed a $5 charge per delivery to PO resort. Not a lot but if you're calculating.

We go to the Publix at I-Drive & Vineland behind the Orlando Premium Outlets. I think it's a very nice supermarket, I wish I had one like this at home:)
Yes we like that one - we've used it when we've stayed off site. Wish we had Publix in the UK (they made a lovely birthday cake for us one trip).

The last time I looked into Garden Grocer, their prices were really high. Not quite as high as the resort, but enough to make me stop in my tracks and eliminate them as an option. I agree with those who recommended just going to Wal Mart or a local grocery store. Plus, it can be fun!

We hate leaving the Disney "bubble" once we arrive, so we usually do a grocery delivery. A trip to Walmart would destroy my Disney vacation mojo :teeth:
I've read recently that Safeway delivery is available to WDW resorts, that might be something to look into as well. I think of our time on vacation as super valuable, so a side trip for shopping isn't a great value to me. But, I hope you have a wonderful trip with plenty of good food!
