Debating that if we went in July (June 29-July6) I know, I know.:crazy2: But IF we went our budget would be pretty tight. Stay at a Value and eat CS in parks or FW Cabins and load the kitchen with lunch and breakfast and just eat CS for dinner some nights? With the pricing that I just looked at there is a $149.00 price diff between the value and the cabin. BUT if we did the food thing, it would cover $149.00 more that the cabin would be. I don't price food usually, as we have a breathable budget to work with at tax refund time. We didn't get one this year....so we didn't have our trip. We MAY have money to do it in June/July. Remember there are 7 of us (2 adults, 16,13,12,10,3) and we would do the obligatory dinner at Ohana one night.

What say you DISers??:wave2:

You must be looking at some different pricing than what I am seeing. I see the value rooms are around $130 a night and the cabins are almost $300 a night. That is a considerable difference.
If you need 2 value rooms then the price difference would be closer.
If you are some how able to get a cabin for just $149 more dollars for the whole trip then I would book that real quick. But if you mean there is a $149 a night difference, then that is a no brainer. You said you are on a tight budget. You should pick the cheapest option.

I'm a travel agent, and get TA rates. ;)

Baby isn't technically "3" until 3 days after our stay. No worries, not trying to break any rules. :rolleyes2 I'm quite aware of them. But thanks for your concern.

I would do value, only because the month you are travelling can be soo hot! I have read some reports of issues with cabins staying cool? I would think at a resort you might have better cooling? And I hate cooking on vacation, not fun! I vote for not cooking if you can help it :)

My family has stayed in the cabins during the winter and summer. There was never a problem with heating or cooling. Our family loves the cabins so I would always choose them if our budget permitted. I don't mind cooking on vacation as I generally don't cook regular meals. Crock pot is my best friend when at the cabin. Plus there are so many activities at the Fort plus just a boat trip away to MK. The only drawback that I could see would be the bathroom for that many people.

I am a DVCer and the amount you will save in food costs will far outweigh the extra cabin cost. During the summer if works great, get up and have a quick breakfast head to the parks, when it get crowded and hot head back to the cabin for lunch and a swim or and then head back to the parks when it cool off. I would estimate that for just breakfast and lunch you will save at least $100/day
