DD(8), SO, and I will be heading to DLR in Feb.

I've read all the ideas for saving money on food, but here's what I need to know:

How easy is it to reach $49 for the minimum Von's delivery? We'd be doing water bottles (I hate the water in the parks, with or without flavor packs), some soda (maybe 2 six-packs), milk, whipping cream, and some breakfast bars, granola bars, fruit, and/or something else quick and easy for breakfast. In other words, we're not going to be making lunches or dinners with the Von's delivery, and don't want to attempt to bring left-over food home with our carry-ons. SO and I aren't huge eaters, especially for breakfast, and DD's generally a lighter eater in the morning too.

So, would it still be worthwhile to get the delivery?

I can tell you some of the prices since I have that stuff on my list right now -

Water bottles - 24 17oz bottles for 3.33
Fruit is on the expensive side, so 5-7 bucks for fruit
Cocacola is 12pk for 6.99
Milk is half gal for 2.69
Whipping cream is a pint for 3.89

You are at 30 bucks right there, before adding breakfast bars and stuff. I think you should hit 49 easily.

ETA - sorry, I thought you said 2 12pks of soda, I still think you can hit 49 fairly easily.

There are minit marts all along Harbour where you can get the soda's and water at a good price. I would bring your favorite fruit rolls and granola bars from home. The cream I assume would be for coffee you can get at the convience stores. The convience stores had milk in all different sizes.

Hope this helps. Only issue I can see is carrying the water back to the resort you are staying. I would ususally buy enough for two says the make another fast trip to the store for more water. Having it delivered by Vons as long as you get to the 50 dollar amount would be more convient. side note -- I like Dasani water as even warm it does not get that flat taste.

The convience store located near Candy cane Inn is the one I found to have most all items I wanted. There is also a 7-11 next door to this convience store.

Bringing your own water into parks will alone save you some big bucks. ns MS"]
