food budget

Going in Nov/Dec (so no free dining). Was doing room-only (AAA discount) ressie and budgeting in cost for food, TS/character meals, etc. and the tickets separately. We have 4 character/TS ADRs.

But, after I figure in the food budget (pretty conservative), I found that if I upgrade my room-only ressie to package deal, -LOSE- the AAA discount, add in dining plan and the full price park tickets from Disney, I am only paying $50 more with the package+dining than if I buy/budget everything separately.

And that $50 will more than make up when we make a few more TS ADRs :)

YMMV - but for us, at $35/adult/day and $10/child/day (and able to use the child CS/TS for adult meals) the dining plan looks like will be a better deal.

If you plan on returning to WDW in the near future, why not experiment. Budget what the Dining Plan cost per person (35 bucks for ages 9 and over, 11 bucks for 3-9).

Keep a list of what you can buy on that money in the parks and report back!

yes you be the guinea pig
