What is a realistic food budget? How much do people budget for adults and for children to eat per day. I know prices are higher than your normal restaurant, but I have never really stumbled upon totally outrageous prices for food. We will be doing a nice sit down restaurant once every other day, one character breakfast and the backyard BBQ. Otherwise, it will be counter service all the way. So what do you think we should figure for an average daily food budget. I have looked at menues from the restaurants, but short of figuring out our exact meal, I don't see how that helps. How would I know, what I will be hungry for in nine monthes from now, and for that matter, If I will be hungry at all.

I usually take an average meal price from each of the restaurants I would like and figure out how much I will spend that way. I have one adult and two kids to budget for and I usually figure on $50 a day. That includes a sit down meal every couple of days and a couple of character meals. We eat breakfast and some lunches in our room.

The menus on www.wdwig.com are the best tool for budgeting your meals.

We have 2 adults and 3 children. We averaged about $125/day.

That included all of our special meals (spent $100 at Rose & Crown alone) and all of our snacks and drinks.

Someone already suggested www.wdwig.com and I second that recommendation. Knowing in advance what special meals and counter service are likely to cost will make budgeting so much easier.
