I went back and looked at my spreadsheet (input actual numbers off receipts and charges) for last year (12 days including Universal, 6 days onsite disney, 1 overnite at Uni, and 6 days in condo). Family of 5 (3 adults, 1 disney adult, 1 kid). We did specialty dining (Star wars weekends-galactic breakfast), dessert party (star wars), Sanaa lunch, BoG lunch, 50's prime time dinner, Cape may dinner, CS meals/snacks (oldest kid had free reign to get food), 4 offsite dinners, includes groceries, and alcohol. We STILL averaged $48/per person per day. I did buy a resort mug to refill with lemonade or hot cocoa for the kids or coffee for me. Includes taxes and tip as I put in final amounts. It actually shocked me we came in that low as we never felt deprived and many dinners included a beer or cocktail for myself and husband. Kids pretty much got every snack they wanted too
We would have spent ~$500 more OVER a dining plan and it wouldn't have suited our eating style.
