Does anyone know how I can get in touch with the Food and Beverage Manager on the Magic? I'm trying to be sure that a few specific food items are available on board for my one year old and want to either email, fax, or speak with someone. We are leaving for FL next Friday. Thanks!

does your son have special dietary needs? if so I would call DCL directly, so they could put you in contact with the department that handles medical/dietary needs.

I've already called DCL Reservations, and they were no help, other than to say the F&B manager was the person to speak with. They wouldn't provide the contact info.

it will be hard to get in contact with the food and beverage manager now, cause they reside on the ship while they are working...

Did you tell the DCL person it was a medical necessity? if so, they have a medical form they will fax you, that you fill out and fax back... maybe try again, its sometimes hit and miss with phone reservation people.

What type of needs does your son have if you don't mind me asking, perhaps someone on these boards will know the answer, if they have had the same concern before.

If it's a medical concern, they have forms that must be faxed to them prior to your sailing.

As has been previously mentioned, if it is medical, did you advise them of this?

It's not a medical request, it is a personal preference. At home we eat natural/organic foods. We know that the food on the ship is not organic, but we do want to have a specific type of soy milk and organic yogurt for our one year old.

I know they can accomidate most dietary requests, such as vegetarian and lactose intollerance, so I would assume the will have soy milk, and I am pretty sure you could request tofuti ice cream on my last cruise, and I bet they have fruit sorbets as well.

I would just speak to the head server, or ask for the dining room manager at the first dinner, shouldn't be a problem.

The couple next to us at dinner on our 8/28 cruise had VERY specific food requirements and allergies. She was allergic to a lot -- including shrimp -- to the point that NOTHING could be cooked in the same pan that they had been in. The Dining Host and our server were amazing. They took pages of notes, checked every night and ordered special ingredients and combinations for her every night. We were all very impressed with their care and concern. I am sure they will handle whatever requests you have to the best of their ability.

Right. I'm familiar with the procedure for medical requests, but as I've said, it's not a medical request. The types of things I need are very specific items that they would not have on board unless I requested them beforehand. Fortunately I've found a contact who is taking care of purchasing these items for us.
