So, how's the food at Tony's Town Square? We're thinking about eating here the night we are at the Magic Kingdom.

We had lunch there in Oct and it was great, we are trying dinner there next week

We've eaten dinner there twice. Same experience both times: food was ok at best but service (and servers' attitudes) was very unDisney and definitely not acceptable. Would not go back because of the service. I think this is the only restaurant in all of WDW that I would say this about.

We thought lunch was pretty good, that was our only meal there though, so I don't know about dinner. We had good service, liked the atmosphere and enjoyed the food. The calamari appetizer was very good!

If you click the second link in my signature you can see my review of Tony's.

We've eaten dinner there. (July 2008) food was ok at best but service (waiter) was very unDisney and definitely not acceptable. Would not go back because of the service. It seemed we were a bother to him.

Our last meal there -- service was great, food was below average. That was August 08. We won't go back.

:snooty: one was not impressed

no but really, we were very dissapointed. i certainly would not go back

Given these reviews, I may have to rethink my decision. Thanks for your opinions.

We were just there in December and had a decent lunch there. My parents liked it and it was their first time there. My kids liked it too!
I had been there 2 times before so I would like to skip it next year and try something else.

I like it. To me the food is about on par with an Olive Garden and I enjoy the Lady and the Tramp theming. I love their desserts, the pistachio creme brulee is my favorite! We have eaten there three or four times and never had bad service. I like it because its not characters, I love character meals but sometimes just want something less hectic. And its not a buffet.

I'll throw in that if you want a sit down meal at the MK without hoopla, characters or spending an arm and a leg, try the Plaza. Great sandwiches, salads and desserts. And very reasonable by Disney standards.

The food's not extraordinary, but it's not bad, either. They make an absolutely fine spaghetti marinara and a good salad, which is what I like to get. The last time DH and I were there, this past June, we walked in around 6 pm--at the height of the rush--and booked their very last reservation. Then we went on some rides, etc., and came back. We were the last people to be seated. There was literally no one left in the waiting area at that point.

The couple who was seated before us got a table just past the entrance to the dining room, so DH and I were certain we'd get an equally so-so location. Instead, we got a seat on the veranda at the rail--just in time for Spectromagic! We really enjoyed that, had a nice (not superb, but quite nice) dinner, and excellent service. Perhaps we encountered the only good waitperson on the staff, but he was responsive and attentive, got all our special requests right, and even though we were there at closing time, never rushed us.

Just thought I'd post a good experience since this restaurant often gets dissed.

I agree with the PP - try the Plaza instead. We've had some wonderful sandwiches and service at the Plaza, whereas the two times we've tried Tony's between the food and service... :scared:

Tried Tony's for the first time this last trip, and won't be in a rush to return. The calamari appetizer was very good, as was the side of meatballs we got, but the chicken parm was edible, and that's the best I can say about it. Also we felt rushed and the waitress didn't seem interested at all in even acknowledging there were people at the table, she was very much like an automotan. Very strange.

Havent eaten there, but its the one restaurant I have seen get mixed reviews over and over again.

Infact, I dont think I have even seen another place get as many "bad service" comments. Although, some get good service.

I'm Italian, so I rarely eat pasta when I go out. But, I might try it sometime for my neice. It's convenient and she might like it.
