I am not sure if this is the right place to post, but we just became DVC members and have never been to the Food and Wine Festival. Can anybody give me a little info on it, especially what it's all about? :grouphug:

Oh, it is a lot of fun, especially if you like food.

All around the World Showcase in Epcot there are Kiosks set up selling small, appetizer sized portions of different foods and wines. They consist of varieties that are normally not available at Epcot from some countries represented that are not usually there as well. Each portion is about $3.00-$4.00 or so. Think of it like a big wine and cheese party. I beleive last year a purchase could count as a snack credit on the DDP. I am hoping they are allowing that this year as well. We will be there from 11/2-11/9.

In addition, there are events such as special meals prepared by famous chefs, cooking classes and wine tasting parties that cost extra in addition to your park adminssion.

Have Fun.

I've been the past two years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The events give you a chance to sample wine and food you may not normally have tried. There are free wine tasting and cooking seminars, but they are not as in depth as the ones Carneymom mentioned. Also, as they are first-come, first-served, you have to get on line early since they are unsuprisingly popular.

We are going Oct 20th cann't wait, staying at BWV.

We love the Food & Wine Fest. Everyone has explained it pretty good, but just take a day, and enjoy it. The music, food, and beverages just make for a perfect afternoon.

Whenever we go to EPCOT, I always make a point to get Fish & Chips, and at least stop at the Rose & Crown for a beer.

For the F&W fest, there is a great cheese soup in Canada, but honestly, I think all the samples we have tried and found something we liked. Mexico had some tasty stuff as well. We are going the first week of October, staying at BWV, and you can bet I will be indulging more than one day!
