I'm trying to plan out some of our Epcot days and snack credits and just wondered what people can normally eat browsing around Food and Wine festival. We are planning on making this our lunch so how many plates would you suggest per person? We would be sharing each one to try lots of stuff. I'd say we have average appetites. Thanks!

I would say 6 maybe for 2 people. 8 if you are really hungry.

1. Do not, repeat do not go on the week ends friday included. One Sat. we went with my dh insistence. We had also gone a few times during the week After he saw he had to wait in line with 50 people, yes I counted them, just to get a cherry waffle, he listened to the voice of reason, me and we left. This was of course after he had the waffle, lol.

The portions arent all that large. My dh is a big eater. I am not. We could share things but he usually finished them in a couple bites, sigh.

I think most things are 1 snack credit but we never use the dining plan

I didnt do a dining report but I know my favorite is always the lobster roll, the filet from canada, sausage from germany and apple strudel. My dh likes the fishermens pie, anything spicy from africa and most likely anything else. There really are alot of choices, so I would look at the listings which they do publish ahead of time and make a game plan.

You could probably do like 4-5 foods and 3 desserts. If that is your only day/time to go to F and W then that would probably cover a lunch and dessert.

It all depends on which items you decide to get since some are larger portions than others & some are richer & more filling. But on average (& with an average appetite), I can't eat more than 3 samples without taking a break for a while. So as PP suggested, I'd think 6 samples between two people should be alright. It also makes a difference being outside in the sun & heat which tones down my appetite in the first place.

Enjoy! :)

Thanks y'all! We plan on getting our kids a meal somewhere along the way (probably Morocco or Yorkshire) and it will be on a Monday at lunch time so no crazy weekend nights for us! I have studied last year's menus and will this year as well and have a game plan going into it. Thanks again!

I was going to ask you "How many is "we"" since your avatar shows 4 of you. I am now assuming the "We" is only 2 adults, is that correct?
This will be our 11 F & W festival. Some years it is DH and I some years it has included adult DS as well We will be 3 this year. We never share an item - it is not big enough to share and satisfy 2. DH is an average eater and I am a light eater. We definitively need more than 3 items each to be full. 6 shared would never be enough for lunch for us.
I would say maybe more in the 4 - 6 each range.
Have Fun

DH and I just spent a day at Flower and Garden, We decided to grab our appetizers at the booths, We grabbed a couple of shrimp and grits at the Florida Fresh booth , there were 3 shrimp and about 2+ large tablespoons of grits, with a sauce that included corn, Andouille sausage and tomatoes. I was surprised at the size of the shrimp, they were more on the large size, the portion was quite generous. This was a great dish and hit the spot and filling with the grits. We had planned to try something else but we both were full and with dinner ADR's at Teppan about 40 mins away.

So for us its a matter of what you are ordering and how filling it is. There are some items that will fill the container and other than will only be a couple of bites. Use your credits for higher end items and pay oop for less costly ones. We always look around to see the portion size that they are serving at that time to be able to tell if its sharable or not. For instance one year a F&W we stopped at Marrakesh ( I think it was in Marrakesh) and I ordered something that had Mediterranean type salad, the container was full almost over flowing. Two of us shared it easily. I know that the serving size should be consistent, but some times it does differ.

Another thought... October its still hot and humid here( I live in Orlando), so that will also come into play.

We picked up sampler cards for the food & wine last year. We prefer the TIW over the dining plan.

May I ask where you found this years menu's? Thanks!

we used several of our QS credits and had them transfered into 3 snack credits at different booths - DH and I would each get a food item and then share the drink item = 3 snack credits

we did that maybe two or three times during F&W - the next time though, we discussed and would rather have the sampler card

These are "small plates". Most of the sandwiches are 'slider' sized. My wife and I found 3 each (2 entrees and a dessert) to be enough for lunch. Budget in the cost of a drink, as well. When all was said and done, lunch was about the same price as we'd have paid at any counter service, but a lot more fun.

DH & I go to F&W each year since we became AP holders back about 7 years ago - (I thought it was nice for Disney to throw such a party for my birthday in Oct :rolleyes1)
We go specifically for F&W and take 4-5 days to go around the world (it started out with 3 days with the fourth day going back for our favorites - last year it took us 5, we had to extend our stay). We normally go in the early afternoon (in between lunch time and dinner time Monday thru Thursday - we call it lupper -[lunch & supper as opposed to brunch]) and have never had more than a couple of people in line. We order one of each food item at each booth as well as a specialty drink and share. We can normally do about 4 booths a day - most booths offer an average of 3 food items. It does get to be quite expensive to try all that is offered as the items range from $3 to $8 each. Most times we are not that hungry for dinner - so we end up sharing a counter service meal or just snack on some cheese and crackers back in the room.
It is great to share - you get to try more items. I do not like fish, but because the portions are small and I only have to try a bite or two, I do try it. I even tried the haggis from Scotland last year (real haggis not the vegetarian one from the year before) - now I know that if I ever go to Scotland, I will never order that.

There are no menus for this year. There won't be one until probably July or August.

You can see last year's, with photos and prices at disneyfoodblog.com

Thank you for the replies. Life got busy for a bit there. Yes, "we" will be two of us. I will probably grab my kids some fish and chips from Yorkshire or something like that. Also I looked at last year's menus on Easy WDW's pdf. We have two Epcot days so we will just kind of play it by ear and see what we are hungry for! Thanks again.

It's hard to say....My twins (Now 12) have always had an obsession for this....We usually make it our dinner though. Very costly, but I never pay attention to that...Our last F&W in 2014 we must've hit 14....Some multiple times...Ds loved Brasil, & Dd really likes Greece, & France.... Me, Well I love them all....

As for you it's hard to say, but I think a fair number would be around 8 :confused3.

Last trip DW and I shared about a dozen items all day, but that was also over a course of six or seven hours.
