Ok, I just had to post -- almost time to go home, my first trip home for Food and Wine. Is there anything to make sure and catch during Food and Wine. Already made dinner reservations and allowed time for grazing, sipping etc.

Here now and bring some patience!! At least right now it's crowded, during the week wasn't bad. Haven't 'grazed' much, but what little we've had has been good.

I have to decide where we will eat while we're there -- we decided to try the DDP this time around, since it is just me, DH, and DD this time.
So many choices! Guess I'd better just sit down and decide. :confused3
I know no matter what I pick, we will have a great time! :goodvibes

Check out the Eat to the Beat Concert, even if you just sit and enjoy while by the tables of the American Pavillion.

Have a great time!!

Make sure you do some of the free Wine Tasting seminars, Free culinary Demo's & if you like beer the free beer tastings.

We did the beer tasting at R&C this past Saturday. Not very informative but you get free beer. However, I don't like beer. I was just along for the ride. DH is the beer connoisseur. I tasted each of the five or six beers just to see if my taste has changed. Nope...Hasn't changed.

Something I tried for the first time was the frozen drink in France. YUM! I had the combo with a mix of Grand Marnier (sp?) Orange Slush and Grey Goose Citron Lemon Slush. Did I mention YUM?!? It was really good.

We have done the F&WF for five or six years now. We always go twice...One w/out the kids & one w/ the kids. We are leaving tomorrow for our trip w/ the kids. We never make dining reservations for the day we graze through the festival because we are always too stuffed to sit down to a big meal.

A couple of things sticking out in my mind that I really enjoyed are the Beef Empanada from Argentina, the Chilaquiles from Mexico, the Lamb Chop & the Macadamia Nut Tart from Australia and the Pistachio Baklava from Morocco.

A couple of things sticking out in my mind that I did not like are the Ligonberry Mousse from Scandinavia, the Vegetable Strudel from Oktoberfest, and the Coconut Rice Pudding from India. The rice pudding surprised me because I LOVE rice pudding. Not the version from India however. Ewwww!

We didn't make it to quite a few of the booths, or we just decided to bypass them, since we knew we would be back this weekend.

Love the Food & Wine fest!! We just got back last week and spent two days in Epcot! Just take your time, and sample what looks good and appeals to you.

My favs :
Argentina - Spicy Beef Empenada & Grilled Sirloin with Chimichurra Sauce. I think this was a new booth this year - both of these were excellent.

Mexico - Love Mexican food - got the Quesadilla and something called a chilaquila (something like that)

China - Pot Stickers & Peanut Chicken thing - very good

Italy - awesome Sicilian Pizza.

Germany - Brat on a pretzel roll (hold the sauerkraut please)

Canada - Cheddar Cheese Soup - GREAT!

And I can never go to Epcot without getting Fish & Chips. Also a nice booth with lots of Sam Adams if beer is what you like to wash it down with. I loved the food this year...mmmm want to go back

We are going next friday the 20th cann't wait to get there.

It has been a couple of years since we did this event, but the last time for us was just magical. The parade of characters on stilts (not Disney characters) was just amazing and truly magical. I hope they are still doing this.
