If there is no availability at BCV or BWV @ that time (10/1-10/8).
Which DVC resort would you try next?

First off welcome to the DISBoards....if you are speaking about DVC availability I would consider VWL or BLT. We always like being close to a park, walking, boat, or monorail. With that being said BCV and BWV is the best for the F&W, and CRO should have rooms available long after DVC is out.

I'd make a reservation at my home resort (or whichever one you can get) for now and wait-list for BWV/BCV.

We just spent a week at our home resort at VWL. It was T-Day week and our son was married at the YC. It was a blast. They would like to return using the perks from the wedding. (A.P.s additional rooms etc)
They just love the boardwalk area as do we. BCV is our favorite resort but we were waitlisted and never did get there.
BLT sound like it could work.
We would need a 2 bedroom. Not sure if we will have enough points for a MK view. Anyone ever stay at a standard view? (ok, is it a dumpster view?)

We spent 10 days this past Oct at our home resort SSR and did F&W festival for 5 of those days with no problem. Sure, it's convenient to stay at BCV/BWV and it's probably equally convenient to stay at BLT on the monorail line, but there really isn't anything bad about staying anywhere else. We experienced no transportation problems and had a wonderful trip! What I would suggest is to do your homework...there is SO much offered during F&W that it's impossible to do it all!

I think staying at BCV and BWV are definitely most conveinent. I have stayed at OKW and SSR before during the Food and Wine. Each have been fairly easy by bus to get there.

We stayed at VWL and although we LOVE that resort, the buses were hit or miss. Most of the time we took the launch to CR and monorailed to TCC where we transferred to the Epcot monorail. That worked better than waiting for the bus. Some days we'd see bus after bus after bus going to the same park and none of the others! :headache:

DW and I have gone to WDW at this time of year every year since '05. In '08 we purchased DVC and have since stayed at SSR and BLT. IMHO as long as you can get to epcot, with the transportaion provided by Disney, it does not matter where you stay. Although to only have a 5 min walk to the gate is nice.

If I am going primarily for the festival and I can't get BCV or BWV, I book at OKW. It's reasonably close to Epcot by bus. SSR is just a bit further away. Had a number of bus lateness issues there last month though.

We like OKW, one bedrooms have great pouch...keep that party going!!!:dance3:

This last F& W, we stayed at BLT in a standard studio. Yes the studio is tiny, and also has great storage. We had a beautiful view of Bay Lake and tennis courts straight off the balcony and space mountain and the castle to the left. Room was 7406 I believe, but could be wrong.

We really have to sit down and decide where to waitlist. VWL is beautiful and our home resort but we stayed there last month. We really like to be near EPCOT. The "kids" (pushing 30) like the Boardwalk area for JellyRolls , ESPN etc.
Maybe OKW is the way to go. It's very spacious so if my youngest who will be 18 at the time may join us at the last min, less points to use and we really enjoyed the resort but that was more than 10 years ago.
We had a little thing called a wedding at our last trip. Although it was probably the most fun I have ever had at WDW, we really did not get our usual Disney experience and look forward to sharing that with our young grandchild. The 7th month mark is March 8th so we will see where we will land tor waitlist then.
I'll keep you posted.

I've had no trouble getting VWL at 7 months during the F&W festival, twice, when BCV and BWV weren't available.

We usually stay at OKW during the Food & Wine Festival. It only a bus ride or a short 10 minute drive away from Epcot. Its a nice place to relax after a full day of Food & Wine. :cool1:

Don't want to stay at VWL unless we have to but if we can waitlist 2 resorts I will go with BCV and OKW. (I wish we could waitlist 3 resorts)
