Please tell me what happens during the food and wine festival. Are there many food vendors or just the restaurants selling there usual fare? Does the WS get really crowded? Can you use the dining plan snack credits for any stuff? Just curious we are going to WDW 11/3 - 11/12 and wanted to check it out.

TIA.....

Has anyone tried any of the special dinners during the festival? Where thaey expensive? Where they worth it?

We went to the F&W Festival for the first time last October. Without hesitation, we felt that it was the best adult-only time we have ever had at WDW. To over simplify the activities, they can be put into 3 classes. First, there are very upscale dinners and wine tastings that have a price over $100 per person. Probably worth it, but a little pricey for us. Second level is the wine pairings that offer some food with the appropriate wine. Very nice. We went to 4 pairings. The cost was under $50. The last class is the freebies. Incredible comes to mind. Everyday various vendors offer tasting of theeir products. We sampled wines from all over the world, single-malt scotch (Macallan 18 year old +), teas, beer, and chocolate. The downside is waiting in line. Each tasting only handles around a 100 people.

Hope this helps. Have a great time.

We were at EPCOT during The Food and Wine Festival last year. We had free dining and did not know til we got to Epcot how many of the food items qualified as DDP snacks. By the time we got to EPCOT we had already used half of our snack credits. This year we will be back and this time we know better and will save most of our snack credits to use there. The crab cakes at the American Pavilion were GREAT !

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

aside from the dinners and tastings there's also the booths from like 20 different countries with appetizer sized samples from the country and wine offerings ranging in price from like $1.50 to $4.50 or so.Also don't forget the EAT TO THE BEAT concerts held nightly at 5:45, 7:00 and 8:15 at the America Gardens theater.

Wow! Sounds great! Does anyone know what is considered a snack at the Festival?

Thanks again......

...How sad is it that it's easier to get info on F&W on the DIS than on WDW.com?

I totally agree and do not understand this??? This makes no sense at all???

We took the free Sam Adams tasting/presentation last year over by the American Pavilion (in the covered area next to their indoor gift shop). It was GREAT... tasted several kinds of beer (and Sam Adams is GOOD stuff) and they gave a very interesting presentation on the history of beer and their company. It was definitely worth the time.

They also gave out really cool bottlecap openers as well. :)

Well, that's the great thing about the food tents set up around the World Showcase lagoon. Each plate ranges from about $1.50 to $4.50, depending on what it is, and the size of the serving. Eat and stroll. Eat and stroll. They are enough to satisfy your hunger temporarily until you run across something else you want to try.

I usually plan on not eating anything else that day (except a small breakfast before I start out) because hitting the samples stations are usually enough to cover what I'd consider lunch, dinner and snacks.
