Has anyone had recent experience eating at Universal with food allergies? DS8 has severe allergies to peanuts and all tree nuts. I contacted Universal and they gave me some general info, but I would like to hear from people who have been there recently. We are used to Disney and they are always so accomodating. Wondering if we'll be able to eat at Universal. Any help would be appreciated!

I have a severe dairy allergy. First, know that there probably is no place on Earth that deals with allergies better than Disney. They really are wonderful, but I am going to be frank with you: Universal is okay with allergies, but not great. Inside the parks, you should be fine. Have him order a hot dog or burger with fries and soda. CityWalk is pretty good. If you choose to stay onsite, I will warn you their kitchens aren't very good with allergies (it took them three tries to get a non-dairy order right). Overall, take the precautions you would take at a normal restaurant NOT DISNEY. I think the main problem at Universal is that they do not seem to have one department dedicated to special dietary needs. I know I am making it sound bad, but it is just average. Hope this helps and stay safe!

there were many threads about food allergies and how doing meals at the parks and hotels were for some past visitors.

i think many of them were posted in the summer/fall last year.

look back on the pages of this forum to catch some of them.

i tried to do a search but the dis is slow.........
still waiting for them to pop up.
