Where are the cheapest places to eat in The Disneyland Resort? I'm heading out there early next month and want to save as much time for the park, so have decided to eat in either Disneyland, California Adventure, or Downtown Disney. And tips would be great!

We loved eating at the Wharf in California Adventures. The soup in a bread bowl is very filling. :goodvibes

The soup bowls both in DL and DCA are great and only $9 each.

We also love the corn dog/hot dog carts and the turkey leg stands. BTW, the turkey leg stands also sell chimichangas for around $5-6. We don't like the turkey legs but the chimis are great and you can't beat the price!

Not sure who's in your group but there's 3 in my family and we always end up splitting 2 adult plates. We never buy a kids meal for DS, this saves money too!

Are the soup bowls only during the Food Wine Festival?
Good idea about the carts, I'll look out for those! It's just going to be my dad and I.

Haven't been to DLR since 1996. Do they still have corn dog carts around the park? I just love those corn dogs! :goodvibes

Here are a few:

White Water River Snacks
Village Haus
Taste Pilots Grill
and as others have mentioned the wharf area in DCA

The bowls are year round and are at both DL and DCA. I think in DCA they are at the Pacific Wharf and in DL they are at several places in New Orleans Sq and at Harbour Galley in Critter Co.

Yes! The carts are still there!

I think the hot dog/corn dog cart is on Main St still- Refreshment/Coke Corner I believe. The turkey leg/chimichangas can be found at a cart between Fantasyland and Frontierland and at a more permanent "cart" on the walk from Small World to Tomorrowland.

Check out the menus here on this Dis and also allears.net, click on the Disneyland tab at the top and you can look at all menus- I love this site!:thumbsup2

Here's a link to the menus (with prices): http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

I've found the best values to be:

Pizza Port (in Tomorrowland): The pasta portions are HUGE (enough to split between 2 adults); the pieces of pizza here huge until recently, but they're still fairly large sized. One order of pasta + a piece of pizza = a meal for 2 hungry adults. Free refills on sodas, too. :thumbsup2

Carnation Cafe' (on Main Street): Yes, it's a full service restaurant. However, the food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the price is about what you'd pay at the counter service restaurants at the Park. In other words...it feels like a "splurge", but you'd be spending the same to eat hamburgers & fries somewhere else.

Rancho del Zocalo (in Frontierland): ENORMOUS portions. One combo platter can easily be split by 2 adults. Plus, free refills on sodas :thumbsup2

For breakfast, Riverbelle Terrace (in New Orleans Square)...their breakfast platters are fairly large & include eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage, a biscuit or pancakes, and cost around $9. One of the best deals for breakfast in the Park, IMO.

In DTD, Jazz Kitchen Express (the "takeout" section of Ralph Brennan's) has a shrimp, bbq pork, chicken, or turkey po boy sandwich platter that's served with yummy spicy fries. The portion is not just huge, but ENORMOUS! Two adults can definitely split the meal and maybe even have leftovers. Cost of the meal is around $9. Sodas are refillable here, as well.

Wow, you've all been more then helpful, thanks! I'll be sure to keep all of these things in mind when I head out there next month.
