folly island sc?

i'm looking for feedback on this area...

we are planning a 2 day stopover at charleston on the way home from wdw and there is a holiday inn (hi-rise) here. just wondering if anyone has been here or stayed here lately?

we want to be close to downtown charleston and fast food places, since we only have 1.5 days there.

any info is appreciated!

I live near there. It is called Folly Beach.
Fun little town. Wouldn't call the Holiday Inn a "high rise" though, maybe 4 or five stories at the most. Folly is not a big resort. Sort of a "young people's beach". It's busy there. but lots of fun. Very eclectic little town. Fun to drive around and look at the beach houses if you have time.

Out on the main road ( Folly Road) leading into town (about a mile or so out on the right hand side) is a restaurant that looks like a dive from the outside called The Anchor Line, great fried seafood- all the locals eat there. Huge portions, reasonably priced
For a fancier sit down - dinner perhaps, but still family friendly try "Cafe Suzanne" on 7th street right in Folly.
