Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

Ellen, just to let you know, I've been to NJ a couple of times. I was quite surprised to see how really lovely it is. NJ was more rural then I realized. The Garden State Pkwy goes through some nice areas.

I am so happy for you guys that Sean decided he liked green eggs and ham! :thumbsup2

Amazing you got the same room. Can't wait to read more!

:thumbsup2 I gleefully certify that I have read up until this point in this TR.

If I fall behind please feel free to flog* me!

*one flogging per person. flogging must be redeemed onboard a cruise ship. Flogging must be accompanied by alcoholic beverage of your choice. Not valid for use by any other Diser. Expiration date: November 2015

subbing! glad i found your newest TR. yours are the MOST fun to read. let's hear it for resourceful moms and sam-i-am. so glad you were able to help sean get to wdw. in situations like these, it's sometimes hard to keep your cool, but as always, you kept yours! anyway, can't wait to read about your latest adventures. oh, and happy thanksgiving!:)

Count me in for another adventure!

Glad you made it there! Gotta love Dr. Seuss, particularly that book. It's my DS's favorite too, but because he knows how to read all the words already.

Love the sunset view from your balcony!

Happy Thanksgiving all! :grouphug:

Hi Ellen! This is the trip when we were supposed to meet until I changed my dates, so of course I want to read along to see what I missed! :goodvibes

The huge Dr Seuss book looks fantastic! Since I started to "investigate" Dr Seuss in preparation for our Universal day, I really became a great fan! And Green Ham and Eggs is my favourite, too! :thumbsup2

Hi there doll!! You know I am always in for another one of your adventures!!!
Happy that Sean feels at home and was excited about the trip. I was a Sneetches fan myself :rolleyes1
AWESOME view!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I was on the other side last month overlooking the road...but could see SE. It was all good though because I was right next to one of the elevators to hop right down to the pool ;)
 BC for their cheeseburgers....not one for ordering them out often but anytime I have ever had one there it has been fantastic :)

Tracy

Joining in. popcorn:: Your trip reports are always so entertaining and filled with good pictures! I'm so happy that Sean (and Dr. Seuss) made it too!
BTW, New Jersey is similar to Alabama in that people have preconceived stereotypical notions of what it's like when in reality it's not a bad place at all. In fact, my mom is from Newark and she turned out just fine ;)

Hey I'm from minnesoder and all the thoughts about Fargo...yea they're true. To prove it my littlest visited Joan at the airport with her nice Camo hat on...lol. No really she worea camo hat. Back to the frozen tundra....

And Katie was simply adorable in camo!!!!! The frozen tundra wasn't THAT frozen when we were there...and you DO have a pretty nice airport!

Yeah! You started your trip report! Glad you were able to get your son down there ok. Looking forward to hear your B&C report. We have never eaten a meal there, just ice cream. So much to see and do and so little time at the World.

:woohoo: I am looking forward to this!!! I have read some of your previous TRs after the fact, so it is exciting to be in on one from the beginning (or close to it)!

Love the BCV pics. My DD and I did our first on-site stay (second WDW trip) in October and stayed at BWV. We LOVED that whole area! I am going to love reading another TR from that neck of the Disney woods. ;)

Sign me up! I'm looking forward to your TR.

You think you have it bad? Try being from Mississippi and live with how most of the country thinks about those from the Magnolia State! Gotta go now. The squirrel is getting tired running on the track to power my puter and DS wants to borrow the shoes to go to the store! :rotfl2:

OMG!! That made me spit out my coffee!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Thanks for signing in- please keep me updated on the squirrel and who got to wear the shoes today!! :lmao:

Ellen -

You are an updating fool today. I absolutely love that view of the quiet pool! I think I like it better than the view from the opposite side of the building. What a lovely evening.

Love the 1BR. Isn't it something how the 1BR & 2BR can really spoil you? I am going to have to get used to that OKW studio really fast for December.

I once had the same room at Pop Century twice. So, it CAN happen!

Sean really does look right at home!

Hi ME! Yes, I agree, the 1 bdrms are very spoiling- but you will enjoy that everyone gets a bed at OKW, no pull out couch. :thumbsup2 I really want to get back there, but I seem to be in a BCV/BWV/AKV loop! :rotfl: OKW has the BEST CMs- they are VERY friendly. :lovestrucThe music that gets piped out doesn't suck either (Jimmy Buffet ). You'll get over your studio I bet!

Signing in ...........

OMG Jen...:rotfl2::rotfl2: FWIW, you could be flogging me like crazy- I actually have been keeping up, but by the time I read everything I have to run out the door to go to something- so I haven't posted in a while- but I am LOVING the AOS!! Soooo cool! And I would LOVE to redeem on a cruise ship- again, someday.....:cloud9:

HEY!! I remember you!!! Thanks for joining in! I don't know if I always keep my cool, but I am very fortunate to have Pods who steps in with his patience when I have completely run out-

Count me in for another adventure!

Hi Old Friend!! Yes, this is the trip we were supposed to meet- in 2012, we are going Nov 2-11....just in case you'll be booking a trip soon...:rolleyes1 I hope our dates overlap this time!

Glad you like Dr Seuss- he is a staple of young children here in the US. ESPECIALLY in my house! :)

Tracy

Hey tracy!! Hey- how was the noise overlooking SE? I've heard some say it's a little noisy over there- did you find that to be the case?

Thanks for reading...AGAIN....:thumbsup2

I'm in too! Love your TR's!:thumbsup2

Hey! Another old friend! :goodvibes Thanks for joining in!

Joining in. popcorn:: Your trip reports are always so entertaining and filled with good pictures! I'm so happy that Sean (and Dr. Seuss) made it too!

Aww shucks...thanks for the kind words...
BTW, New Jersey is similar to Alabama in that people have preconceived stereotypical notions of what it's like when in reality it's not a bad place at all. In fact, my mom is from Newark and she turned out just fine ;)

My favorite family trip when I was a kid was to Alabama (of course, we didn't go to WDW, so Opryland on the way down was the only Amusement park I saw). We visited friends in Huntsville. I LOVED Alabama! :lovestruc Very glad to hear your Mom is ok, being from Newark and all! :rotfl:

Thanks for reading along!

Hey I'm from minnesoder and all the thoughts about Fargo...yea they're true. To prove it my littlest visited Joan at the airport with her nice Camo hat on...lol. No really she worea camo hat. Back to the frozen tundra....

But what about Oley????:scared1: :rotfl:

And Katie was simply adorable in camo!!!!! The frozen tundra wasn't THAT frozen when we were there...and you DO have a pretty nice airport!

Hey! Why don't you post a pic to show us how cute she was! :upsidedow Silly DISmoms.....

Yeah! You started your trip report! Glad you were able to get your son down there ok. Looking forward to hear your B&C report. We have never eaten a meal there, just ice cream. So much to see and do and so little time at the World.

Hi there! Thanks for coming along with me again! I agree, there is SOOO much to see in WDW and so little time- even when you go often. It amazes me when people say they have been there once or twice and have no need to go back because they've done EVERYTHING. :sad2: Umm...I'm on 17 trips and counting and I STILL am not close to seeing it all!! There's ALWAYS something new to do! Like....eat a kitchen sink!:yay:

:woohoo: I am looking forward to this!!! I have read some of your previous TRs after the fact, so it is exciting to be in on one from the beginning (or close to it)!

Love the BCV pics. My DD and I did our first on-site stay (second WDW trip) in October and stayed at BWV. We LOVED that whole area! I am going to love reading another TR from that neck of the Disney woods. ;)

Well, HELLO!!! :jumping1: Glad to hear you are here from the start this time- I hope you won't be a stranger!!

I do love that Epcot area- it's definitely our favorite as well. I will have to go check out your TR, too!! :woohoo: We actually spent alot of time over at the BW on this visit- love the place!

OKW has the BEST CMs- they are VERY friendly. :lovestrucThe music that gets piped out doesn't suck either (Jimmy Buffet ).

Nothing like a little margaritaville to put me in the Christmas spirit! Totally psyched for the nice CM's. Let's see if they can top the awesome CM's at BCV!

We walked over to B&C....

IMG_2996.jpg

Through here....

IMG_2998.jpg

It felt so good to be home! By the time we arrived at B&C, it was probably just before 6pm. We put our names in for a table- and the two CMs at the podium had a little debate over whether or not we could sit at a table right away (something about not putting 2 tables of 5 next to each other). They did offer us the counter right away, which we would have taken, but WOW am I happy we didn't- it would have been CRAZY trying to eat a kitchen sink all lined up in a row! :rotfl:

We placed our orders, and were quickly served

IMG_3004.jpg

I got a vanilla diet coke, Pods got a regular one-

IMG_3006.jpg

Gee, they really look alike! Tyler got a rasberry coke (which looked the same, too- SHOCKER!!), and he loved it, but it was too sweet for me. Timmy, apparently not intimidated by the coming sink, ordered a vanilla milkshake, brave boy...

IMG_3008.jpg

Our server was Brian, and he was wonderful-

IMG_3009.jpg

IMG_3012.jpg

Sean was having a kids cheeseburger and french fries- ALL of them from all of us-

IMG_3014.jpg

Pods & I had regular cheeseburgers with a side of onion rings to share- which we put on the burgers-

IMG_3015.jpg

They were Yummmy.....Timmy got a hot dog topped with bacon and cheese-

IMG_3016.jpg

According to Tim, this was the best hot dog in the world! Tyler got the same, minus the cheese-

IMG_3017.jpg

Those earbuds make me NUTS! We were cutting everyone a little break this night, because the morning had been so challenging, but after tonight, no earbuds at the table- or in many other places.

We did enjoy our meal, it was simple and delish....but we REALLy came for-

IMG_3018.jpg

IMG_3019.jpg

That thing is NO JOKE!!!

IMG_3021.jpg

IMG_3022.jpg

I had told Brian that I was making the ultimate sacrifice for my family- I bypassed a No Way Jose (which is OMG my FAVORITE ice cream concoction in the world- and I mean on earth, not just WDW!) to help the family team devour every bite possible! He shared with me that the fudge & peanut butter are in the bottom of the sink- but I could barely find them!! OMG, that's a LOT of ice cream and toppings!! :scared1: We had asked for the banana to be left off (Pods & Timmy hate nanas) and the coffee ice cream was replaced witha scoop of some other flavor (I'm the only coffee drinker/eater in my house). Time to get to work!!

IMG_3023.jpg

Tyler's personal pile of dead soldiers....

IMG_3027.jpg

There had been quite a few of these sold while we were there- and several families walked by and commented on how we had kicked their butts on the thing. well, DUH! That's cuz we have a secret weapon- named Tyler, human garbage disposal of bottomless pitness...

IMG_3024.jpg

Sean was starting to get fidgety, so I decided to leave with him- they did tell me they couldn't finish it all, though. ALMOST...but not quite.

We really enjoyed having our first dinner here- it just felt so easy and relaxed since we were staying at BCV.

Up next- BCV...BW...BCV....BW....BCV....BW....BCV......

OMG I have always wanted a Kitchen Sink but since I go solo there is no way I could manage it
