First of all I would like to thank everyone for their replies to my thread regarding moderate and deluxe resorts. It never ceases to amaze me how helpful people can be to strangers on a message board.

I do have a couple more things I need opinions on.

What it comes down to is that I am considering doing 3 nights at AKL and 4 at POFQ. If I did split our stay between AKL and POFQ, would it be a mistake to do AKL first and then go over to POFQ? I know people advise against doing that but I am scared if I do POFQ first, then I will be spending the first 4 days of my vacation thinking about AKL and waiting to switch (even though I have stayed at POFQ before and loved it). I just don't want to waste my POFQ experience by thinking about the end of the week.

Also, if I do not stay concierge at AKL (which there is no way that I can), are there any sunrise/sunset safaris available to "regular" guests? For some reason I can't find this information anywhere. I admit I haven't looked very hard though

This is our fifth trip to Disney in six years. You'd think I'd have it down by now. :drinking1

Go with whatever you think will make you happy. Peoples experience usually tends to go with doing the Value/Moderate first and capping off the trip with a Deluxe resort. Everyone is different and only you can really decide for yourself. Personally, id go with POFQ...I dont know how you'll be thinking about AKL the whole time while you're having fun!

As for the Sunrise Safari, I dont think its offered to 'regular' guests :(

We split a stay between the same two resorts in 2002. We stayed at POFQ first. The day we moved to AKL we spent exploring the resort. It was a nice relaxing day. We chose to stay at AKL last because we knew we would be running out of steam by the end of the week and would be at the resort more. We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony at AKL and watching the giraffes and other animals.
