Follow up surgery

Hi everybody, It has been quite sometime since my last post but I just thought I'd bring you up to date. Last June my DD posted about my emergency surgery for a perforated diverticulum. That went quite well and now I;m scheduled for follow up surgery on Tuesday to put my internal plumbing back together.(intestinal)I don't know if medical terms are permissable so I won't go into details. On June 4th I was admitted through the ER and went directly to the OR at 3PM and was out of surgery by around 5PM. It was a life threatening situation. So, if you would be so kind a little P and PD would surely be appreciated.So til next time --Thanks and Bless you all.

Sure will, mom. Ironically, just a couple days ago, one day last week, I was asking your DD, Blondie, how you were doing. She gave me the update then. My very best, good wishes and prayer are with you. Let us know how you are when you feel up to it, and have Blondie let us know all went well too.

I just talked with my Mom and there's been a little set-back.

Her surgeon has decided she needs to be cleared cardiac wise and is requesting a Nuclear Stress Test before he'll give the all clear for the surgery.

So...just when she thinks she's finally going to get things back to normal, she has to wait a little longer.

We both look at this bump in the road (so to speak) as a sign, that maybe tomorrow wouldn't have been a good day for her to have surgery. We are both believers in the old adage things happen for a reason!

Good luck Mom with the Nuclear Stress Test tomorrow! Don't let them work you out too hard!

It can be disappointing to be delayed like this too, but we always looked at the delays the way you guys are...there's a reason for it even if we don't know why.

Hi again, After all the calls back and forth to my PCP,Pre-admission testing, my surgeons office and the cardiologists office and the stress test center,and finally havng the surgery postponed till next Tuesday (the 30th) I received a phone call from the pharmacy where I was supposed to pick up the bowel prep, telling me that I wouldn't be able to pick it up till tomorrow. I was supposed to start taking it at 5PM today if I was going to have surgery.I really,truly believe I was not supposed to have surgery tomorrow. I think God and my Guardian Angel is really looking out for me. Sometime things do happen for a reason. If I ever find out what that reason is, I will clue you in. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and wishes. Bless you all

Hi All, Well I went and had the nuclear stress test this morning and I think everything went well. The only thing that bothered me was that my old knees got tired when I was on the tredmill when it was on the incline and going a bit faster than I normally walk. Got a little out of breath also but recovered from that rather quickly. Now I just have to wait till next Tuesday. I or my DD will update you on my progress. My surgeon said I will be in the hospital for 7 to 10 days.So I will not be posting for afew weeks.Bless you all for your kind wishes.

Oh so glad the stress test went well for you. Those old knees though........be careful you don't wear 'em out! LOL

I'm gonna pester your daughter to keep us posted about your surgery. Good luck with that and bless you too!
