We just returned from our Christmas trip home (to Toronto), and we were able to see The Lion King at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

It was a magnificent show....Disney magic in the heart of Toronto.

Our boys (7 &11) were a little reluctant going in, but they straightened up as soon as it started, and we all really enjoyed the show. For the kids, knowing the Lion King story, allowed them to more easily understand and interpret the artistry. They lived it.

Our seats were 7 rows in from the stage, on the right side. These were excellent seats as we get to see the detail of the costumes at close range and the sound system was powerful up close. At intermission, we took a look at the orchestra pit. IMO the extra cost for this seating was well worth it.

Hi Tim!

So nice to read that you enjoyed the Lion King! :) It really is a touch of Disney Magic in Toronto! LOL What a performance they put on and I too think the cost of admission is well worth it!;)

I would really like to go back again to see it as I thought it was excellant too! Happy New Year!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, TimC. Isn't it beautiful? My only regret is that we didn't take the children (5 & 8), but my mother has offered to take them a little later on.

timC, great to hear your experience was "magnificent". Now that we have seen the show from the balconey, we will have to plan to go again to see it from the orchestra seating area...to get a different perspective of course:D

Hi Tim! Glad to hear that you enjoyed TLK so much. DS and I saw it last year and just loved it. I was thinking about you on Boxing Day since we had received some snow here in Peterborough for your boys to get a chance to see it again. Hope the rest of your trip was good too.

Thanks Baboo. The trip home was terrific! In fact, the weather couldn't have been better. There was enough snow to make the kids happy, and the roads were dry enough to make me happy:)

We had a little trouble getting a taxi after the show, and the cold wind that whistled down King St. was brutal. We had some hot chocolate when we got back to our hotel.

We're now back in Houston, and I'm back at work  ...

Happy New Year Canada!

I used to work with the gentleman that played the adult Simba in the show (Steve Allerick) He's a great guy and I'm happy for him :)

Cool! I've been hearing great things about the show. :)
