Ok, I've been interviewing like crazy for any and every teaching job in a tri-county area.

On Thursday, I had a great interview. I liked the principals and the school seemed first rate. The principal asked me a question about what I have currently used as technology in the classroom. I thought he meant my student teaching classroom and well, I didn't use much technology in that placement. (due to lack of resources and a not so tech savvy cooperating teacher-- )

As I was driving away from the interview, I thought about all my other field placements (all 7 of them) and how I used wikis, blogs, webquests, asynchronous online discussions and Powerpoint in those placements. I don't knwo

Would it be weird if I emailed the principals and stated that I had a chance to think about the interview and was able to state although I didn't use any of these technologies in my student teaching, I have used wikis, blogs, asynchronous discussions and powerpoints in other placements.

Would that clarification email look too desperate or ambitious? I am new graduate that still hasn't found a position after two months. This is a long term sub position for March to June at a local middle school.

I already sent the thank you letters so I can't add it there.

I would say go for it. It shows him that you are interested and that you have the experience he is looking for. Also make sure you are following up interviews with thank you notes.

I just sent the email. I have sent so many thank you letters it isn't even funny...

I figure the email was worth showing that I was thinking about the interview and that I had chance to reflect on my answers.

Good luck to you as well.

Please let us know how it turns out. Hopefully the interview went as well as you believe it did.

I had a great one yesterday. However, the pay was so low-- it was even lower than aide pay! I'm still shaking my head on how a certified teacher in a school district would get paid so low.

If I took this one, I'd be committed to really low pay with no benefits for 3 months and a good portion of next school year... until December. Sure low pay is better than no pay, but other interim jobs I am looking at offer prorated salary, benefits and better environment. I also have a few full time jobs in non teaching areas that I am stil looking at.

I'm afraid to say no, but I can't live on the low salary for an extended amount of time. I could do it for a few weeks but not six months.
